About this deal

The Hibiki 17 Year Old Blended Whisky is made from a combination of malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. Chita, on the other hand, is traditionally used as the “dashi” or broth that enhances Suntory blends.

The aging process of 17 years imparts a depth of flavor and complexity that appeals to connoisseurs, making it a highly desirable whisky. Nose: Plum, golden brown sugar, light vanilla, aged antique wood, wood polish, orange citrous peel, little Japanese umeboshi (sour plum), caramel. But it was a beautifully balanced whisky and still the best Japanese whisky I've ever tasted (admittedly I think I've only had maybe 6 or 7).Hibiki, which means harmony, is a master blend of carefully selected full-bodied malt and grain whiskies.
