About this deal

The cards with the numbers on will be given to each player, one of each number up to the player count, plus 1 also.

There you get a nice variety of cards to choose from, but you shouldn’t be constantly butting heads with other players. There are lots of ways the cards can score, so figuring out the combos and working them in your favor is part of the strategy. If you're the only player that bid for the donut, than you take it and place it face up in front of you.For a four player game, the teal, pink and purple background cards are used while the blue cards are only used with 5 players or more. Place the stack of donuts face down to form a draw pile and reveal and place one donut into the space below each numbered counter. While it’s probably not going to replace Sushi Go Party in my collection, I will be keeping it around for those times when I want a somewhat “meaner” game. As much as Sushi Go really set the bar for an easy introduction into set collection mechanics, slathered over a theme that was eye-catching and welcoming, I would argue that Go Nuts For Donuts is just as significant as a welcoming game.

The effects of a donut picked up from slot 2 will be played out before one is picked up in slot 4, for example. If it is picked from the discard pile, taken from another player etc then its ability does not trigger. You will use the cards indicated for how many players you have, plus all the cards in lower count games.

There are cards that reward you for getting through the game with just a few types of donuts in hand, or few cards in general. Once each player has a selection card face down in front of them, everyone simultaneously reveals it.

If only one person has selected a donut, then they win it, placing it in front of themselves face up. The game will end when there are not enough cards left in the deck to fully replenish the cards up for grabs. When that happens to you once in a while, it’s not a huge deal, but I’ve seen a player go more than 5 rounds not getting a card just due to bad luck. The Boy: From a practical side, I wished individual boxes were available to place the cards in when you are not playing because the box that is included can sometimes bend the cards.Double Chocolate (2): Immediately draw two cards from the deck, choose one to place in front of you and put the other back on top. The game is quickly explained and a great start to a boardgame evening with friends or a simple party game. The great thing about all of this combined (the theme, ease of play, short game length) is that you can easily play this game with your game group between bigger games, use it to introduce new gamers into set collecting and secret bidding mechanics, and even teach it to your children.
