Welcome to The Wood Works, where craftsmanship meets innovation to redefine your woodworking experience. With its roots deep in Australia, our name stands for quality and precision in the world of woodworking tools. Proudly serving craftsmen across the nation, we specialise in offering top- notch plug cutters and timber plug cutters that elevate your woodworking projects to a new level of excellence. Unveiling the Wood Works: A Legacy of Craftsmanship

As a tribute to Australian craftsmanship, The Wood Works is your destination for premium woodworking tools. From our roots in Australia to woodshops around the country, we are dedicated to supplying tools that empower craftsmen to create with confidence. I think that for many shops the common screw sizes will probably narrow down to just a few.I'd ratherhave 2 bit/countersinks set up for a size that is always in demand than to have sets ready for sizes that I need only rarely. We keep apair ofLV snug-plug cutters at the drill press (3/8 and 1/2). These make terrific plugs, for either hole-drilling operation. If you push them really hard (like trying to make 100 plugs in maple in 5 minutes) the "arms" occasionally break, butthey can't be faulted for that. Under normal use I find them to be excellent. At The Wood Works, we believe that woodworking is a blend of tradition and innovation. Our commitment to quality and innovation sets us apart:

Versatility Redefined: From hardwood to softwood, our timber plug cutters excel across various wood types, giving you the flexibility to bring your vision to life. Like almost everything else discussed here, it often comes down to what you are making and what you feel comfortable with. I can only give you a picture of how my shop uses these: As a business originating in Australia, The Wood Works is more than a name; it's a legacy that spans generations of woodworkers. Our journey began with a simple yet profound mission – to provide craftsmen with tools that resonate with their passion for perfection. In the world of woodworking, precision is key, and that's where plug cutters come into play. A true testament to craftsmanship, plug cutters are tools that create perfectly sized wooden plugs to conceal screw heads, giving your projects a seamless, professional finish. At The Wood Works, we take this art to the next level.Innovation in Design: Our commitment to innovation means that we continually refine our tools to meet the evolving needs of woodworkers. The Wood Works plug cutters are a reflection of this commitment to progress. Premium Craftsmanship: Our plug cutters are a result of meticulous craftsmanship. Each tool is designed to provide clean cuts, ensuring that your wooden plugs fit seamlessly into your projects. Over the years, we have honed our expertise and expanded our offerings to cater to the diverse needs of the woodworking community. From humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in woodworking tools, The Wood Works continues to stand as a beacon of quality and innovation. The Art of Plug Cutters: Precision Redefined Durability Assured: We understand the demands of woodworking. Our plug cutters are built to withstand the test of time, ensuring that they remain reliable companions for your creative endeavours.

We have5 or 6 Fuller tapered bit/countersinks ready for the 3 or 4 commonly used screw sizes. I never buy sets because I find the stop collars to be completely uneccessary. Also, the bits break (by dropping the drill on the floor, usually) much more often than a countersink needs to be replaced. I often resharpen the countersinks myself on a grinder with no difficulty. So I usually buy 2 or 3 bits for every countersink. Ease of Use: The Wood Works plug cutters are designed for ease of use. With ergonomic handles and precision engineering, you can achieve accurate results with minimal effort.

Our collection of timber plug cutters embodies precision and durability. Crafted with the finest materials and engineered for excellence, our plug cutters allow you to achieve flawless results with every project. Whether you're a seasoned woodworker or a passionate hobbyist, our plug cutters empower you to create works of art that stand out. The Wood Works Difference: Quality and Innovation For out of the ordinary screw sizes we just drill and countersink in separate operations. We use whatever drill is needed and a plain old 1/2" countersink which lives forever.
