About this deal
Keeping in tradition with the woody theme of other Amber Oud fragrances, the Gold Edition can only be described as decadence in a bottle. Christian Carbonnel is the perfumer that made Xerjoff Erba Pura, and he also makes perfumes for Al Haramain. I don't know if it's oud or musk that permeates this scent, but whichever it is, I think my olfactory isn't mature enough to appreciate it.
I don’t know what’s happening with this perfume but when I got it I felt it’s more masculine and wasn’t sure I choose right perfume. I had to delete my initial review as I hadn't worn this fragrance enough but I've worn this now for most of the week and my opinion has changed, alot. I was just thinking today that I just not enjoy fruity perfumes, because I couldn’t find one I liked. before you mash the sprayer on this is akin to getting in a Corvette and saying to yourself, “Self, how fast could this possibly go? The bottle looks and feels really nice; the glass is very thick and symmetrical, and the cap is good and heavy.
VERYYYYYYY strong, so unless you want the other side of the street to smell you I'd use a light hand. My test will be when I wear it to the office and if I get comments because I’m known for stinking the place up with whatever I’m wearing that day!
Like, I wouldn't stop someone if I smelled this on them in public because I don't think the beautiful notes are powerful enough to burst through that oud or whatever.Turns out my problem wasn't that it was a unisex fragrance, my problem was just with THIS fragrance. this took a while to grow on me; the musk didn't sit well in my nose at first, but after letting it macerate it definitely calmed down a bit. The fruity notes were over-ripened and jammy and the woody oud base was a fantastic combo (usually not a fan of oud). Some may consider it a more masculine fragrance and perhaps it does lean slightly masculine, but that’s exactly why I like it.
