Dance Room (Press R2 when in this area to see how much time you have until the monster enters the area. It is only 10 minutes maximum. There’s a lot of survival horror on the horizon for PS5, but if you’re a fan of the genre, you’ve probably got time for one more. Do Not Open, a self-proclaimed Escape Room-style experience, will prise the PS5 ajar when it launches on 15th November, 2022. It’ll be followed by a “definitive VR...

Zatu has an excellent range of games and for most of them the best prices too. Delivery is always fast and I have never received a game in bad condition. 10/10 would recommend.Hoping this one ends up good, especially since guillermo del toro is involved. Still, considering it's from playstation talents, I'll tone down my expectations, since usually games from talents, especially horror ones, don't always turn out to be great due to their ambition. I’m normally heavily swayed from procedurally generated stuff (it completely ruins the memorability and weight of things for me personally) but this sounds like a genre and concept that it could work great for. Unfortunately, one part of the game that isnt up to scratch is the poor voice acting of the protagonist, which became incredibly grinding every time you’d unbarricade a door to hear ‘ Good’, or for hear him screaming for his wife and daughter without a genuine bit of emotion, all whilst he’s supposed to be sneaking around and keeping quiet. Do Not Open follows the story of Michael Goreng, a zoologist who, after finding out his Aunt Judith has committed suicide, finds himself trapped inside a horrific rendition of her home. He awakens in a grimy basement, separated from his wife and daughter. Stalked by a malevolent being, and slowly losing his grip on reality, he seeks to reunite with his loved ones and escape. Kind of like playing one of those off the shelf trivia games I guess except it’s a haunted house with puzzles.

Do Not Open - Chapter Cheats Walkthrough Part 1 for Do Not Open - Chapter Cheats

Old School Survival Horror: Designed around the true survival horror values of vulnerability and fear –with mechanics such as permadeath and an emphasis on hiding instead of fighting. Summary Under immense pressure in a terrifying and oppressive environment, Michael J. Goreng, an infamous zoologist and epidemiologist is trapped within a warped version of his own house. A true PlayStation veteran, Sammy's covered the world of PS gaming for years, with an enormous Trophy count to prove it. He also likes tennis games way more than you. Missable trophies: “Mike would have done better”, “Not funny at all”, “Easy target”, and “By the skin of your teeth”A tragic story about one man’s battle to retain sanity and fight to shut out the voices in his head. Inspired by true events. Under immense pressure in a terrifying and oppressive environment, Michael J. Goreng, an infamous zoologist and epidemiologist is trapped within a warped version of his own house There’s a new wave of horror games that are truly embracing the escape room format, however, and the latest of them is Do Not Open. Trapping you inside a house, your house, it’s instantly clear that something isn’t quite right. And the only way to escape the nightmare you’ve been thrown into is to visit a sequence of rooms, solving the puzzles found in each so that you can escape. And did we mention there’s a giant paranormal entity pursuing you? Well, yeah, that. One part survival horror, one part escape room, Do Not Open by Nox Noctis has an exciting premise that caught my attention from the get-go. Unfortunately, when I first booted it up, I found myself unable to leave the very first room. I had solved the puzzle and triggered the in-game dialogue, but the door I was supposed to open just wouldn’t cooperate, no matter how many times I restarted and reinstalled the game. DO NOT OPEN is a terrifying first-person escape room experience based on procedural puzzle generation, and classic survival-horror mechanics, boosting replayability to discover the plot and lore: Each game will contain different rooms, puzzles and variations, being different to solve.

There were genuine moments of terror during my playthrough, half of it from the tense and creepy environment, which is gorgeously lit and well crafted, the other half trying to figure out the puzzle before the almost inevitable screeching and grabbing by the aforementioned figure. To me, the graphics were a bit of a mixed bag. The in-game graphics were solid, for the most part. The manor itself was fairly detailed, leaning heavily onto the stereotypical haunted house aesthetic with all the dirt, dust and ominous messages on the wall, but the character models and cutscene graphics looked more like they belonged to a PS2-era game rather than one launching straight on the PS5.

Enter one of the side room doors, and in this area, you will go up the stairs and enter the room with a couch and TV. On the couch is a TV flyer with a Morse code decipher for the alphabet. When you interact with the TV, it will give a four-letter word code that is in Morse code. You will need to decipher what the four-letter word is. Go downstairs to the dog statue that is near the pool table. Interact with the dog’s collar to put in the four-letter word and get the first half part of the key. Kitchen (Press R2 when in this area to see how much time you have until the monster enters the area. It is only 10 minutes maximum. Break any barriers on any doors as you more than likely need these to be removed to be successful in this area.) With interesting escape room mechanics and a degree of replayability, Do Not Open had the potential to be a great game, even with its buggy launch, but I was left feeling a little disappointed. I enjoyed the puzzles. There was a nice variety of simple and complex puzzles, and I enjoyed the added challenge of the solutions changing each time you die, but the relentlessness of the demonic entity was frustrating at times. It’s hard to solve puzzles when you’ve got this monster prowling about, after all. Perhaps Do Not Open tries too hard to fit into the categories of both escape room game and survival horror when it should have focused on and perfected one . That said, there is a lot of fun to be had if you have the patience to see the game through to its end, and the PS4 version of the game, which is due to release early in 2023, is planned to be fully compatible with PSVR, which will certainly make for an interesting experience. Venture into a land haunted by the souls of the dead from the fierce and deadly Battle of South Mountain during the Civil War and an infamous witch hunt. And struggle to escape the “fictitious” house of Elly Kedward (better known as Blair Witch), a house you are trapped in, as you search for your wife and daughter.

When you think about it, survival horror games have always essentially been escape room experiences. It’s debateable whether most players will have the patience and persistence to see Do Not Open through until its end. It’s a shame, because the premise here is interesting, and the puzzles themselves are mostly clever and fun to solve. The entity is its downfall, an ill-conceived obstacle that’s relentless and a little bit broken. Rather than make Do Not Open scary, it makes it needlessly frustrating. It’s intriguing, but horror is hard for me in VR because I’m a big scaredy cat in this medium. It’s just too real in a way watching on TV definitely is not.Below is a walkthrough of the game as mentioned in Stage 2: not seen, never caught, and always solve all puzzles. Ultimately, your goal is to solve two puzzles in each room, obtaining pieces of the key required to escape via the door you entered from. That in itself is fun, even when the puzzles can be horrendously obscure or reliant on you knowing things like Morse code – this is a game you’ll definitely need a pen and paper for. What ruins it is when your freaky pursuer shows up, making it very hard to complete your task without being killed.
