About this deal

Andy Whiteman, Product Developer at Morrisons, said: “Santa Paws is truly coming to Morrisons this year as we introduce our biggest and best Christmas pet range. They help decorate the festive table, ensure everyone is in silly party hats and keep the kids busy whilst you're dishing up. In a bid to save money, I bought boxes of crackers from three supermarkets to see how they compared. The new sections are now product driven, so if you are looking for a Strawberry Jam and not sure of the brand you will be able to discover we have over 40 different types, to suit your taste and size requirement. They included a tape measure, cookie cutter, pencils, marbles, nail clippers and the obligatory metal puzzle, (which I’m not sure anybody actually does).

THE cheapest we tested, which is reflected in the prizes – all of which are paper and cardboard but still a little more imaginative than most. Soluble inks, foil and paper reliefs will instead be used to decorate Morrisons FSC certified paper cards, wrap and bags to give them a festive feel.NO Christmas dinner is complete without a naff joke from a Christmas cracker, but which ones give you the best bang for your buck? I expect those of you who are Christmas Cracker aficionados already read the article in the Sunday Telegraph about the panel of experts’ ratings of this year’s cracker offerings. As should be expected, the Harrods cracker boasted a sophisticated, "classy" exterior – in contrast to the less stylish, five out of 10 appearance of the Morrisons offering. I liked the fact it involved no setting up and there weren't any plastic parts that end up hanging around for months after (you know those unusable key rings, paper clips and mini egg timers that you can't part with and just gather dust?

The Morrisons cracker, by contrast, had the 81-decibel bang to wake even the doziest Christmas diner.

The joke helpfully points out “Warning might not contain humour” before asking “Who is Santa married to? It’s one super-sized cracker – and, yes, it does come with an extra-loud snap – and is packed with chocolate snowflakes and penguins as well as festive specials like mince pie brownies, Christmas mess and apple strudel.
