About this deal

There are many benefits to the use of audio for learners with visual impairments or those with dyslexia. Many learners find that they learn better through hearing than by reading for example. However, with these opportunities, it’s also important to remember that those with hearing impairments will not always be able to access this type of content. The National Campaign for the Arts, which participated in the taskforce, said the report’s proposals were a further significant step towards the survival, recovery and strengthening of the arts and events industries. It was particularly happy about the pilot of a Universal Basic Income, which it has pushed for and “which will be transformative for so many artists and arts workers”. Joyce, James– A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man – Free iTunes– Free MP3 Zip File– Free Stream Christian Andersen, Hans– Tales of Hans Christian Andersen, including The Emperor’s New Clothes, read by Sir Michael Redgrave – Free Spotify I'm not a huge fan of artists talking about their art, but this book is great. Edgard Varèse, Henry Cowell, Merzbow, Brian Eno, Glenn Gould et al. Some real heavy hitters. And their words, which the editors of this volume have culled from essays, interviews and even liner notes, rise above the merely theoretical. I've read this book twice so far—first as a novice and then again with a more substantial knowledge base—and it has honestly bolstered my subjective appreciation for the medium both times.
