About this deal

If you are an oversprayer, as I am, you may be completely put off because the first 30 minutes are so overwhelming if over-applied.

Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. If this were an actress it would be like Doris Day or Sandra Dee (the actress)-- or like the images of Olivia Newton John in the movie "Greese" - (before she turned biker chick). Not "cool" in a slangy way, but despite a tad of amber and a hint of musk this one is not warm and cuddly. Well, The bottles are very pretty, they remind me of her jewelry penchant (I think that is the point). I can see why others love it’s freshness but for me it’s too over powering and the other notes don’t get a time to shine on my skin.

The sweetness and ripe fruit smell is like a shampoo for your hair that smells of those fruit notes. There's a sharpness to it which makes it almost aquatic, which I find perfect for the warmer months. It stays on me for 6 hours, wich is so much better than ming shu from yves rocher thats stays only for 2 hours. What is unique about this perfume is the juxtaposition of notes which I have not smelled paired together. Fragrances made in the US are not necessarily subject to the strict IFRA regulations that restricted perfume ingredients in 2005 and destroyed countless classics that were made in France or other European countries and intended for distribution in Europe.

This phase is absolutely beautiful, and with none of the "rotten fruit" notes that can occur when using Melon in a heavy composition. I am trying to identify which note it is that is throwing things off for me, but can't put my finger on it. I "like" this perfume, however, on me - with my chemistry, I'm more partial to Diamonds and Emeralds, Passion, and the dry down of White Diamonds (after powering through the beginning phases).I bought this as one final attempt at finding one fragrance from Elizabeth Taylor that I liked, and had not been watered down. I can also see wearing this in the winter, but I fear that humidity might create a cloying effect, and therefore, I would use it with caution in the spring and summer. I don’t know if it smells young, or smells like when I was young, but it comes across as very youthful to me.

I think that the packaging made me think of it as a night time, going out sort of perfume, or an older lady perfume. But Diamonds and Sapphires is different from Escape and l´eau d´Issey (luckily because I do not like either much). I smell only the lily of the valley (I don't like this note if it is too strong) and some awful mixture of fruits. It's not too heavy with the Lily of the valley, which I'm grateful for as too much reminds me of air freshener. I think it’s also a bit reminiscent of Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers, but Ghost Myst jumps out to me most of all.

On the initial spray my first thought was 'this is like sitting in the garden during late spring/ early summer'.
