About this deal

Supreme comfort– Premium soft silicone material along with the ergonomic design provides outstanding and lasting comfort. A small note: I am going to compare the various eartips using the “L” size as reference, so you will need adjust that to the size you are interested in as the purpose is to give you a frame for comparison, not to describe every possible size and combination. When I started using in-ear headphones, around a decade ago, one of the things that I didn’t like about the experience was the eartips. They were just too uncomfortable compared to classic earbuds with foams. Sure, they provided better isolation, but having very sensitive skin I often found myself with irritated ears. Then I discovered foam eartips and that changed things completely, as they were much more comfortable, as isolating as the silicone ones and less prone to cause irritation. So I basically stopped using silicone tips – why bother when the foam ones were so much better for me? But one of the realities of life is that things change, sometimes for the worse and (thankfully) sometimes for the better, and man did my perception of silicone tips change when I discovered the SpinFit tips.

Note that it is best to confer with SpinFit for specific recommendations for a particular model type as this list by no means encompasses all the brands out there. Model The SpinFit CP360 are the first tips SpinFit developed specifically for “true wireless” earphones: they’re much shorter than the others because they need to fit in the cases, which often offer very little space for eartips. This means they can’t count on the depth of the insertion to give you isolation and have instead to rely on width: the ear canal is larger at the entrance and so these eartips need to be wider to seal it. In fact these are among the few SpinFit models to offer an XL size (on top of L, M, S and SS) and that’s because of this. The L size is 13 mm in width and 8.5 mm in height, while the XL is even larger at 14 mm wide and 8.5 mm high. They are basically shorter CP100! That’s also true when you look at their shape, which is similar but more compact. The inner diameter is 3.6 mm.

From the naked eye, they appear identical to the CP100 except the colour. They also feel similar in my ears. The audio quality is also exhibits similar characteristics, although I had an impression that the CP100+ produces slightly clearer upper frequencies like cymbals. Given the CP100 has been on sale for so many years, it’s good to get an upgrade with better silicone materials. SpinFit CP360 Soundwise they are also quite close to the CP100, so they have very little impact (if any) on the sound and allow you to hear it as intended by the manufacturer of the earphones. Comfort is A+ on these however fitment is a different matter (may be a personal thing as it only affects my right ear) The SpinFit CP100 works across a range of in-ear monitors including but not limited to: the 64 Audio Tia Fourte, 64 Audio Tia U18 as well as InEar’s ProMission X and Campfire Audio’s Andromeda 2020. In general, they offer improved levels of transparency and a linear neutrality compared to other silicone tips. However, their crisp nature does mean that they are a bit leaner when evaluating note size. Thus, they may not be the best choice for already thin and exacting IEMs. While there are several ear tip companies in the IEM space, SpinFit aim to define the niche with: supreme comfort, an optimal seal, enhanced sound quality and simple installation. Ear tips are an often-underrated component when choosing the perfect personal audio set-up. They have the ability to fine-tune and even tilt the sound signature of in-ear monitors without the use of aftermarket cables.

They are equivalent to the CP100 in every respect, except for sound: the new material makes treble a bit stronger overall. SpinFit CP145 SpinFit claim their double-flange tip to offer ‘triple-flange’ isolation. However, Etymotic’s triple-flange eartips generally offered superior levels of noise isolation when compared to SpinFit’s model. With that said, the SpinFit double flange tip was far superior in comfort and it was surprisingly unobtrusive in prolonged listening sessions. With the easy 360 o rotation, the SpinFit ear tips were perhaps the easiest silicone eartips to install and remove from any in-ear monitor nozzle.Third-party eartips are one of those things that you end up with a large collection of as you fall deeper into audiophilia. The reason is quite simple: universal earphones (i.e. non-custom IEMs) require fiddling with the tips more often than not. Moreover, eartips are just about the cheapest (and often most reproducible) way of tuning an earphone. So we all end up with boxes of eartips of our own, sooner or later. Here are the TWS earbuds I have in my collection and tried them with the CP360. Creative Outlier Air V2 with SpinFit CP360 The SpinFit CP800 were the only ones I could not try due to not having compatible earphones: they are made for super-thin nozzles like those used by Shure, Westone and Etymotic. At just 2 mm wide, the inner bore is too narrow to house earphones with 4 mm nozzles (believe me, I tried). I will update this review as soon as I lay my hands on compatible earphones, but I expect them to behave exactly like all other eartips in this list. SpinFit CP1025 It’s the groove in the inner bore that makes the difference: it grips the lip of the nozzle much better than the usual smooth eartips and this provides better comfort, as the tip is more stable, while also providing a more uniform sound quality across earphones: the distance between the sound port and the end of the eartips is constant, so you get the optimal distance that SpinFit found. Speaking of sound, I find the CP500 to be neutral as they don’t modify the sound significantly – for better or for worse.

I just bought the Beats Fit Pro 2021 true wireless IEMs, and even using the smallest of the three ear tips included, they constantly fall out. I’m pretty active, hiking and kayaking, so I don’t want them to plummet down a cliff or fall into the water. Comfort levels are similar although the new material is said to be even more friendly for those with susceptibility to allergies. Overall, the CP100+ offers some welcomed improvements to the already stellar CP100 and provides even more choice for the IEM enthusiast. Comparisons With the CP100, the Aurvana Trio’s mid-treble sounds a little harsher, while the midrange is slightly less articulated. I attribute it to a more filling bass and harmonics which somehow influenced the texture of the instruments, making them less clean.

October 31, 2023 ] TCL NXTPAPER 11 Tablet Review: Where Paper-Like Experience Meets Performance Lifestyle Gadgets On the whole, the SpinFit CP100 does improve the bass presentation slightly, so it’s something you should consider if you needed that little more bass extension. Sound quality is superb. I think I'm hearing slightly more bass definition but that may just be the eartips sealing better. These are currently my favorite Spinfit tips. They are the most comfortable in Spinfit’s lineup along with the CP-100+ and pairs well with most IEMs with the given nozzle size (~4.5mm). Usually the bass seem to get tighter with these tips on and in some IEMs I’ve also experienced a perceived expansion of soundstage. The older CP-145 has a more supple, grippier texture on the outside whereas the new, medical-grade silicone version has a more coarse texture and has slightly worse seal. The choice between older and the newer CP-145 isn’t as straightforward as they both perform very similarly and are equally comfortable. Whichever you get, however, you shall find them stellar.

Let’s look at the different SpinFit models, and compare how they fit on a selection of IEMs. Note that the sizing within each model (Small, Medium, Large) only affects the width of the flange and how that fits your ear, and does not affect the size of the bore or how well they will fit on different IEMs. CP100/CP100+ SpinFit’s double-flange tips offer further levels of sound isolation with an even superior seal compared to the flange tips. Again, they are a good fit for poorly isolating in-ear monitors without compromising on comfort during prolonged listening sessions. CP100+ Ear Tips These will likely be my general use eartips due to ease of popping them in and out, comfort and the fact that my normal listening environment is not noisy Silicone is also easier to clean and won't wear out like foams so I really like having these as an option. The CP100 provides an easy fit on an IEM with smaller to medium sized nozzle like 64 Audio’s Universal fit offerings. CP145 Thank you for writing this up! I have extremely small ears due to a condition called microtia (I have a very mild case), but most extra small eartips are too large for my left ear. The Spinfit 100s are the closest I’ve found to being comfortable, but they feel too deep in my ear. Based on your article I think I’ll try 145s or even the 1025s out since they are shallower.
