About this deal

Mid-frequencies are pretty similar between the 2 modes. Lower mids are relatively neutral and sound natural. Crank up the volume on an album like Robyn’s “Bodytalk Part 1” and the A10s are in their element, the pumping bass coming across hard and clear.

There’s an old adage when it comes to buying headphones: affordability, sound quality, bells and whistles – choose any two. Treble is quite emphasised, with multiple peaks that make it aggressive. The peaks are concentrated in the lower and middle regions, so they are often very audible. Detail is very limited, with cymbals often sounding like a mash of sounds rather than like individual hits. Final Thoughts Bass is overly present, with a large bump in the mid-bass section which has quite steep slopes on both sides. It often sits on top of mids, masking their lower section. It’s rather limited in speed, with transients being slow and then having a long decay; this makes bass not quite detailed nor layered. The on- switch and volume adjuster buttons are located on the right cup, with the ANC on-off/transparency selector is on the left earcup. They're easy to get to grips with, with enough spacing between the right-ear buttons to never get them accidentally mixed up. The on-off/play-pause button also has a sharper texture to make sure I always knew whether I was pressing that or adjusting the volume. Expect a reliable connection with a standard Bluetooth 5.0 range, a basic set of audio codecs, zero lag for watching movies, but no support for multipoint. While the headphones are fairly light, I did notice that they would shift on my head when I leaned down. This wasn't a problem for me, but I imagine they could slip off if you're not careful. Sibilance is far more present when you enable ANC. The latter only flattens the bass and slightly boosts the upper midrange and treble. Given you can tweak the audio to your liking, it’s easy enough to let the exaggerated bass reproduction of the default sound profile slide. But there are a couple of simple ways the Life Q30 could be improved.

The noise reduction can’t match that of the industry’s big hitters like the Apple AirPods Max, the Sony WH-1000XM4 or Bose’s NC700 but it’s a mighty fine attempt from a pair of headphones costing a fraction of the price. My one minor grumble is that you can only switch between the three modes via the app, but having to do so is certainly not a dealbreaker. Anker Soundcore Life Q30 review: How do they sound?Still, after some time, you will start noticing an aching sensation, which will force you to take a break. Their appearance isn’t helped by the fact that the words “active noise cancelling” are emblazoned onto both sides of the headband. It’s a bizarre design decision that frankly makes them look a bit silly. You must manually switch between a laptop and a phone to answer a call. What Bluetooth Codecs Do They Use?

Weighing in at 8.7 ounces (248g), these are relatively lightweight, and although they won’t weigh you down, you’ll definitely feel them sitting on your ears. These over-ear headphones create a good seal around your ears which can muffle most noises, and while they do half the work, the difference made by the ANC is staggering. Dual Device Bluetooth Connections: Under Bluetooth mode, Oneodio noise cancelling wireless headphones support connection between 2 devices, so that you won‘t miss phone calls after you already connected your phone and other device, and can shift devices connection at your choice. Also, considering the overall frequency response of these headphones, I’ve found out that the mids are (somewhat) clear and neutral while the bass is fully overexaggerated. Don’t get me wrong, there’s powerful bass to drive most pop songs and EDMs, but it’s unnatural and needs more nuance. When she’s not writing, you can usually find Sarah baking something delicious, hiking up a mountain, or playing video games.

The OneOdio A10s use a slimmed-down over-ear type of fit. The ear cups just fit around the outside of my ears, so if you have larger ears, these may turn into on-ear headphones. For me, the comfort was still nice after two hours, especially since the headphones are fairly lightweight. If you have larger ears, you may not be as comfortable. These are by far the most consistent and great-sounding mics in Bluetooth headphones, rivaling even higher-end models. The problem with the sound with ANC on is that the upper midrange and treble are too boosted and therefore too harsh.
