Put simply, yes. With a whole cabinet full of industry and consumer awards for each of their mattresses, Emma has shot to the top of the league for quality mattresses. Their use of innovative materials such as their Airgocell®and ComfortAdapt™ foam means that Emma memory foam and hybrid mattresses are responsive to your body.
The Emma Original is the cheapest of the brand's lineup, and the only all-foam option. The cheapest hybrid is the NextGen Premium (read our Emma NextGen Premium mattress review). This has the same firmness as the Original, and adds a layer of tall springs. This is an exceptionally comfortable mattress that makes sleep, quite literally, a dream. The medium to firm nature of the Emma Premium means it won't suit those looking for a softer sleep but for everyone else, there's a perfect balance of memory foam and springs here. It's a little warm on very hot nights but that shouldn't bother most UK sleepers. Temperature Regulating Cover - this moisture resistant cover will help you keep your cool all night long! While the top cover is cited as temperature regulating and that top layer of memory foam is meant to draw away heat, I did find that the Emma Premium sleeps a little warm on hot nights. It was only noticeable on exceptionally warm nights but those who regularly sleep hot might want to err on the side of the slightly cooler Simba Hybrid. One area of performance where the Emma Original fell short was on edge support. I felt definite sloping when sitting on the edge of the bed, which increased for the heavier testers on my review panel. I also placed a 20kg near the edge of the Emma Mattress and this created noticeable sloping too.It's also worth flagging that the Emma Original is available in a good range of sizes. There's all the usual UK sizes, as well as a small double, and there are also EU sizes. ore size availability with the Emma Original compared to the competitor models mentioned above, as Emma Sleep also offers EU sizes in addition to standard mattress sizes. Competitively priced amidst a sea of hybrid mattresses, the Emma Premium holds it's own and supports all sleep positions. Incredible mattress. It truly is the most comfortable mattress ever. Delivery was fast, even to the Highlands. Firmness Rating of Emma Mattresses The Emma Original Mattress is the standard and first mattress released by Emma Sleep. Again a medium firm mattress, this is a perfect choice for overall value as still rated one of the best mattresses in the UK by experts at Which?, Good housekeeping and many more. Handily, where other mattresses often require an additional protector, the Emma Premium has a removable cover that can be easily unzipped from the mattress itself for popping into the washing machine. It’s a nice bonus as some covers can become an uncomfortable extra layer to deal with. There are also handles on the side but you won’t really need to use them as this is a no flip mattress. The weak edge support became more pronounced during co-sleeping. If you're set on the Emma Original, I'd recommend those who share a bed to invest in a larger size, especially if both of you are of an average to heavier weight and like to spread out when sleeping. On my Emma Original review model, I tested the standard cover. This is made from soft-touch fabric, and is hypoallergenic and breathable. It can be zipped off and cleaned in the washing machine. The heavier side sleepers on my testing panel had a mixed response: the heaviest found that they sank in too much and found it hard to turn over easily to the other side, as the memory foam was very hugging and isolated motion to a high level. But the side sleeper with an average body weight slept deeply on the Emma Mattress and hardly felt the need to move throughout the night as it was so comfortable and cushioning.
