Today, official Disney Princesses are found in many different forms of media and merchandise, from sing-a-long movies and TV specials, to dolls and bed sheets and costumes. They also feature prominently at most Disney theme parks. Pocahontas and Tiana are the only Disney Princesses with childhood best friends who are human (Nakoma and Charlotte, respectively). Crafted for young Disney Princess fans whilst staying true to the classic Disney Princess styling, this fun range aims to stimulate a child’s imagination during play. Aurora has the shortest screen time (appearing on screen for a little less than 18 minutes), while Moana has the longest (appearing on screen for over an hour). The character should be born or married to royalty, or they should have performed an act of heroism (think Mulan).

Disney is pretty vague when it comes to just who can be a Disney Princess. But there do seem to be some general requirements. Tinker Bell– she was added to the official Disney Princess line-up early on, only to be replaced by Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Tinker Bell is now the lead character in the Disney Fairies franchise. Made from environmentally responsible FSC certified wood, (license C156989), and suitable for children aged 3 years and over. Jane Porter– this Tarzan character was planned to be one of the original Disney Princesses, but she was ultimately removed from the line-up. Jane’s signature yellow dress is very similar to that of Belle. It’s believed Jane was scrapped to avoid confusion between the two characters. Anna and Elsa

These are characters who might be actual princesses (or similarly titled) in films, but who are not included in the official Disney Princess line-up. Think Elsa and Anna from Frozen (more on them later).Under the sea, down where it’s better, down where it’s wetter, lives the red-headed mermaid Ariel! Ariel is fascinated by life on land and one of her visits to the surface, she falls for a human prince. Determined to be with her love, Ariel makes a deal with the sea witch Ursula to become a human for three days. But plans go sideways and her father King Triton is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice! There's lots of fun to be had the beautifully decorated Rapunzel's Tower inspired wooden playset, which inspires imaginative play, allowing storytelling skills to develop whilst having fun! The tower features opening doors, and a fantastic hair slide for the characters to slide down. Includes 3 double sided wooden figures; Rapuzel, Flynn Rider and Pascal. The figures feature 'drop n play' feet so they can be easily slotted into the wooden boat provided, encouraging coordination. On the ground floor, the drawbridge opens to the Grand Castle Entrance. Next door is the beautiful Seashell Boutique with a working swing! There’s also a Cottage Kitchen, the perfect place for Snow White to cook, and a Stable for Angus the horse, complete with wooden manger. Alright, we mentioned Anna and Elsa earlier in this post. Both would seem to fit the criteria, so why is neither an official Disney Princess?
