That was truly amazing though I was suspecting something close, but not exactly that. As I've been saying the last 10% of the book was amazing, but no to the remaining. If I just had to sum this up in a sentence it would be this: This book will take you straight out of your longest reading slump.

Life grows on everything it touches, and despite its power, it shares the sky with the moon on even the brightest days.” Another weird thing is that Dex is kind of a badass. That’s cool, and I totally respect girl power, but it doesn’t really make sense. She was raised as a princess, who, by her own admission, was closely monitored and had her freedom restricted. It is mentioned that her father’s general/guard taught her some things with a sword, but that isn’t expanded upon. She didn’t escape from the castle that long ago, so it seems strange that her fighting ability is so good that she’s arrogant about it. There’s one point where four people rush her, and she says something about it being easy. In her new life, it seems like her focus was mainly thievery instead of fighting, so I did kind of wonder about this. It felt like Dex was made a badass for the sake of her being a badass and so Gideon wasn’t the only strong fighter.This book was a surprise that landed in my mail out of the blue and I was so excited to start it. The Venom vibe was the only reason I still gave this 3 stars though, in the end. I feel like the author wrote this book at two different times of her life or with a big gap in between. The writing in the beginning is a lot weaker, whereas it becomes more descriptive and less train-of-consciousness by the end. Blood Moon Sanctum brings such unique elements to the adult fantasy genre that i have yet to see in any other book, while incorporating our favorite tropes that we all know and want! The character development and world building was done so well, and I especially loved the map, glossary, pantheon, AND pronunciation guide. My name is Dex. I am a thief, I am a killer and I will not break under the hands of men. I am the lost princess, and the one they call savior. but no one is getting saved. They're getting damned instead." The mysterious lines dancing across her skin, and the power brewing within her, forces her to hide her true primal needs.

And the most infuriating part: even though it’s pretty obvious who Gideon actually is if you read the character list, the plot has zero hints. Zero. Nada. Nothing. Dex doesn’t even wonder who he is. And it also ties to her own part in the story which is always talked about but avoided in every possible way. It just doesn’t make sense.The best time to read a book depends on your personal schedule and preferences. Here are some suggestions: Has a bit of sm** (losts of sexual tension tho, i love when fantasy books have more s.t than actual sm**) Dex is such a badass and genuinely relatable FMC. She is so unapologetic about who she is and everything that she does. She often acts as though nothing phases her but she feels so intensely. Her sense of humor and snarky remarks were everything to me. The banter that she engaged in with everyone was so much fun. The fact that she also met her match in Gideon is amazing. AND THAT CHAPTER THIRTY !!!! I don’t wanna be extreme and say that it was my favourite chapter but … IT WAS MY FAVOURITE CHAPTER !!!
