This isn't a rhetorical question: why would body mass have anything to do with those bits of brains used for thinking? Varvara Sidorovna Tamonina (aka. Varenka Dobroslova); Russian/Soviet witch (Night Witch), magical WWII veteran (365th Special Regiment of the Red Army), later living on her own in Britain with a magically extended lifetime The Hanging Tree is definitely one of the best in the Grant/Aaronovitch pantheon. There again, so have most of the previous books in the series and the odds are the next one probably will be too. (The Bookbag) Adjusting to a new sleep position takes time. However, if sleeping on your stomach feels good to you, don’t feel forced to change it. You can minimize your risk of pain and improve spinal alignment with the right mattress and pillow.

This week’s poem is from The Third and Last Book of Songs or Aires by John Dowland (1563-1626), Elizabeth I’s court musician. It’s been suggested that the song alluded to the queen, who, after increasingly poor health, died in 1603, the year of the book’s publication. Obituaries are written in advance, so why not an elegy? And perhaps some would argue it’s not an elegy at all, but a lullaby in praise of sleep. Whatever its origins, Dowland’s song seems charged with personal emotion. Would be interesting sci-fi. Scary Ravenmasters invade from parallel world. They come with terrible soldiers and slaves - semi-sapient descendants of wolves and big cats. And, to make things worse, Ravenmasters are adept in spreading divisions and manipulating humanity to their goals... It’s witty, fun, and full of vivid characters, and the plot twists will keep even seasoned mystery fans guessing.”— Publishers Weekly I do, however, find myself wondering if the overall quality is slipping. It’s almost guaranteed to happen now with so many books and graphic novels floating around. I have seen a fair few comments saying the same and several others saying that they feel it is certainly dropping off. I do feel the quality of the first few was far higher but that could just be that I feel comfortable with the universe now and it takes more than I am being given to wow me. It would be really great if it would be available as a book. Creating hypothetical animals is a hobby of me I had already in primary school, and in general I always tried to stay realistic.

It’s also common for people to wake up with brand new aches and pains in the morning, sometimes due to sleep position. Pause to think before responding to what your partner is telling you. When your partner is relaying what you think to be a lie, take a brief moment before you answer. Use the time to process any of their lying patterns and keep yourself from responding impulsively. I loved how the novel nicely illustrated that even with the might of the entire police force, it often takes months to find a culprit and confront them. Thus, we also got nice private events, letting us meet interesting fae/deities and learning quite a bit about London's ancient past.

Moving on, here we come to the next coincidence as, while working with Jeff Liston in Glasgow's Hunterian Museum during November 2007, I learnt that views essentially identical to those expressed by John had managed to get into the non-fictional literature elsewhere, thanks to an obscure little 1993 tome by one Mike Magee, titled Who Lies Sleeping: the Dinosaur Heritage and the Extinction of Man. Thanks to Jeff, I've since gotten hold of this book.

Freakin' authors. Here's a comforting thought for you, Peter,' he said. 'However long you may live, the world will never lose its ability to surprise you with its beauty.'"
