About this deal

If you can confirm that the modem has achieved DSL sync and has authenticated on the TalkTalk network and got a WAN IP address, then you can narrow down the problem to being something with the connection between the modem and the TalkTalk router. On the router, go to [WAN] > [General Setup] and select the WAN interface that the Vigor 130 modem is connected to. Whilst its in the early stages i've found it much easier to control and understand how the system is behaving.

AELEM Upstream Power Back-Off (UPBO) related status parameters for the alternative electrical length estimation method (AELEM). Once the router has restarted, log back into the web interface and select [Online Status] > [Physical connection], if it has connected, the relevant WAN Interface status text will be in green along with an IP address which indicates that the connection is active and ready for use.

Without the https or if you just use http, your data passes across your network in clear text and could be sniffed so that anything you type (passwords etc. Once that has completed, go to [Online Status] to view the status of the connection, which can take a minute to apply fully. What I've learnt so far is the vigor 130 is not connected as the dsl light keeps flashing on and off and there is no connected status in the draytek interface. Once you have the appropriate firmware file for your product, you can upgrade from the 'system maintenance' menu in the web interface - but do always take a configuration backup first (from that same menu).

Setting up a DrayTek router with FTTC using the BT Openreach

Personally I don't think you can get a more reliable modem at the moment on the market than the Vigor 130 in my opinion. The Vigor 130 modem will operate purely as a VDSL to Ethernet bridge, without adding a VLAN tag to the VDSL traffic. Despite the documentation from Draytek to the contrary, the values in the "Near End" column of the detailed stats appear to be consistent with the upstream, and the "Far End" column with the downstream.Been looking for this for a while but didn’t work for me unless is have the static route from the Vigor modem to UDMP wrong, Im assuming if my UDMP is in the domain 192. If you need an all-in-one solution; a broadband router with an integrated VDSL modem, or ADSL modem, all of the router models listed here include VDSL/ADSL modems. Due to the size, weight and delicate nature of Data and Server Cabinets, specialist couriers are required so they arrive on site in pristine condition. When connected to a router, the router itself is responsible for making the connection and the modem passes through the WAN IP. Modems connect to the internet directly, translating code and messages, but cannot create a local connection.

I imagine it might be possible via more advanced configuration somehow, can settle with just setting it on the actual device when I need to for the moment. Whilst the Draytek has never had any problems, I wondered if anyone had used a different modem for their fibre in connection?

This firmware is designated ' critical' (see below) so you should update your product and those of your clients (or let them know) as soon as possible. That might not happen if your router is in a failed state, in which case you might need to manually set the IP address of your PC temporarily. RST file will upgrade firmwareand wipe out all settings back to factory defaults so always use the . Meanwhile, routers can read the new messages to create a local network for your devices but cannot connect directly with an internet provider. The Vigor 130 is a pre-configured VDSL2 / ADSL2+ modem that takes a VDSL2 or ADSL2+ connection and performs full pass-through / bridge to Ethernet presentation, which can then be used by a device such as a router to connect directly to the internet. The Unifi Security Gateway has the incoming fibre from a Draytek Vigor 130 modem, which i've had for a while and it replaced the original Openreach one which always seemed to be buggy. I have had the setup nearly two years and only had one issue and it wasn't speed related hence why I changed the firmware of both the WRT32X and Linksys E600 to WRT versions. As well as the web interface,Vigor routers have a telnet interface - this is a command line, accessible with any Telnet program. While it’s flashing, the DSL modem has either not detected (blinking slowly), or is syncing with the line (blinking rapidly). We are constantly testing for increased compatibility, so you can be sure that each DrayTek router is made according to the latest technological advancements.
