What it is: A hair trimming device designed to safely trim the ends of hair that are damaged and split while preserving the length of the hair. It can take hours for a professional stylist to trim your split-ends and maintain your style but the Split-Ender does it all, in just a few minutes.
Taking a small section of hair (smaller than you would for a curling wand) I brush downwards with the machine. A split end trimmer is perfect if you’re thinking of growing your hair longer, and you want to save money on salon visits while keeping your hair looking good in the meantime.Split ends are making your hair look like a hot mess, but you don’t want to throw money out on yet another simple trim or try to DIY it with a pair of scissors, especially when you’re forced to stay home (like, say, in a pandemic). The only downside is the the on switch is easily accidentally turned off when changing the direction of the split ender, hence just giving 4 stars. I was skeptical of this product after reading some negative reviews, but I am happy to say that I am delighted with the Split Ender Pro 2. The company is second to none, they are so helpful and friendly, if you need any help or advice Nicky is there to help and nothing is too much trouble, also the first girl I spoke to before she got Nicky to phone me back was lovely and very friendly.
I purchased my first Splitender ( original battery operated one) back in 2005 and used it regularly until 2011 when I moved house and it went missing during the move. You’ll have to do at least 3 (and up to 6) passes per strand to get noticeable results, depending on how many split ends you have. Over time, daily wear and tear on your hair will degrade and wear down the hair cuticle, exposing the inner cortex. I tried some of the best-known brands available online to find out which one is the best split end trimmer.
It works the fastest, has the two different length settings and is the quietest (surprisingly important when you’ll be spending quite a bit of time with it working away right next to your ears! The thing is, when it comes to cutting our hair, we tend to leave it for as long as possible – because A, haircuts are expensive, and B, unless our hair is short, longer length is goals. Such a great invention and for someone with very long hair it keeps my ends in good condition in between trips to the hair dresser. Don’t use the machine more often than every two months, and don’t skip having a proper cut at the salon.While I know shorter hair is in fashion and looks impossibly chic, after four years of short hair, coupled with its frizzy nature, I'm looking for a change. The product is absolutely amazing it has made a massive difference to my hair and I have still been able to keep the length. While I haven’t had any problems, I read some people had reliability problems with the Lescolton, but possibly they’re just happening with frequent users.
If your hair is badly damaged, I would only get the Split Ender Mini if you really can’t afford the extra money for the PRO, because it would take a lot of patience to get all of your split ends with this. Quite simply, it trims stray hairs that have grown beyond your normal length - most likely damaged split ends - without removing from the body of your hair. For very curly or thick hair, it’s better to use thin sections of hair between half an inch to one inch so that the teeth don’t drag or tug the hair. The Split-Ender has a hair plate specially designed to guide the hair strands to uniformly flow in and out throughout the “Strand Guards” and safely guiding each and every hair in a straight motion, forcing them to stand straight up when reaching the “Center of the Hair Plate”. Unfortunately, what this means is that, when compared with the PRO, it will take you quite a bit longer to trim all your split ends with the Mini. It was the original split end trimmer on the market, and it was the first split end trimmer I’d ever seen when one of my best friends introduced me to it.
