About this deal

Includes additional resin parts to create the version of Eagle 1 that featured a lab pod as well as the booster pack. The stun gun features a working slide stun/kill button and both the stun gun and comlock are hollow to provide space for custom electronics and lighting. The opener to season two of Space:1999 introduced this fan-favorite variation of the Eagle Transporter.

At 15” long, this kit is the perfect pairing to go with any of MPC’s popular 1/48 scale Eagle Transporter models. For the Eagle, the command module is flattened and the black window recesses are far too small, there are no feet (or any detail on the vaguely shaped leg pods), the top spine framework is too big, and there are only three rear rockets (with no cylinders). When building these 14" ones I usually use decals to do the panelling but on the 22" I tend to mask and paint. It comes moulded in two colours with clear parts and includes water-slide decals and assembly guide. It was ideal for industrial and agricultural uses with “wide appeal among sportsmen who do not want to be limited by terrain”. x 3" colour sheet of decals for the MPC/Airfix/Ertl Eagle kit (enough -with care- to cover two Eagles). The true origin of the Space:1999 Hawk starship is a bit of a mystery, but it was fully intended to be a formidable weapon.

Initially included as part of MPC's Nuclear Waste Area 2 Diorama, MPC are now releasing the buggy with added features in its own kit! MPC gives you three painting options for the Eagle: a plain white transport, a red-and-white striped rescue module, and the orange VIP transport I built. As seen in the Space 1999 episode 'War Games', this model kit is in scale with the WARP and Product Enterprise Eagles. Backtracking to Step 11, I built the propulsion unit, cleaning up seams and painting the tanks, frames, and pipes before assembly. The kit includes a large colourful decal sheet, a full-colour decal location guide, and a dome base with a metal support rod for a nice clean display. However, its unique look captured the attention of Gerry Anderson’s production team who transformed it into the futuristic Moonbuggy depicted in Space:1999. The module is about 5 inches in length, although following the more detailed 1/24 command module seen in close-up.
