CÎROC Vodka was launched in 2003. Unlike most vodkas that are derived from grain, it is distilled from fine French grapes which results in a luscious and elegantly smooth mouth-feel. Created by Master Distiller Jean-Sebastien Robicquet, CÎROC, is distilled five times at the historic Distillerie de Chevanceauxin the South of France. Robicquet saw an opportunity to create a sophisticated, luxury vodka which is a reflection of the lifestyle adopted by the modern elite who dream big, celebrate their successes and go against the grain. Living in "the now" is at the heart of CÎROC Vodka, encapsulating luxury, trendsetting moments within fashion, music and popular culture. On the CÎROC x Moschino collaboration, Jeremy Scott, Moschino creative director, said: “I love the cheeky, playful nature of CÎROC. Marketing responsibilities were surrendered to hip-hop star Sean “P. Diddy” Combs in 2007, who then embarked on an aggressive marketing campaign. In the music world, Ciroc was elbowed into a variety of music videos, got massive visibility at concerts, and recently even had its name put on a studio in Los Angeles that donates its services to aspiring musicians as a marketing tactic. Ciroc vodka is a premium beverage brand created by the British multinational alcoholic beverage company, Diageo. The reason for the higher price, when compared to low-cost brands, is the vodka's ingredients. Unlike most vodka brands, Ciroc is produced by distilling grapes rather than the usual grains or potatoes. Whether or not the taste is affected at all is a matter of serious contention online! Some people claim it tastes strongly of grapes while others assert it just tastes like vodka (which is not to say other flowery terms won’t be added to the description, like “luscious,” “complex,” or even “revolutionary”). Introduced in 2003, CÎROC is an ‘ultra-premium’ vodka distilled in south-west France, using grapes as opposed to grain, potatoes or corn. In turn, the production which uses Mauzac Blanc and Ugni Blanc “snap frost” grapes, means CÎROC is naturally gluten-free, using grapes from the Cognac region, distilled five times by Master Distiller Jean-Sébastien Robicquet at the historic Distillerie de Chevanceaux. The Ugni Blanc’s first four distillations take place in stainless steel column stills, while the Mauzac Blanc grapes are distilled in copper stills. These distillations are then blended (95 per cent Ugni Blanc: 5 per cent Mauzac Blanc) and distilled once more in a traditional Armagnac style copper pot still.
