Although not a priority, it is a good-looking backpack with plenty of pockets and straps to add gear or compress the load. We actually spent a while loading our bags with various items just to test them out, they were amazing.

The Osprey Tempest 20 is a reasonably lightweight daypack with some great features for light day hikes and commuting.

There are times when you just need a bag to bring your essentials, but you don't have space for a big, fully framed pack. A company from California, Osprey aim to ensure their products are comfortable and adjustable so as to be suitable for the wearer. It has many of the same features that we loved in the smaller model, but with ten more liters of carrying capacity and a top lid. We like that this pack has beefier, 420-Denier nylon on the bottom, but compared to many others we tested, its main body is on the thin and light side.

The slightly raised pads on the REI Trail 25 were surprisingly comfortable while allowing some airflow on hot days.
