Bvlgari's Petits Et Mamans was released in 1997 as a scent to be shared between new mothers and infants. My understanding is that it has quietly been reformulated, the original scent being much more traditionally powdery and baby soft. The new formula is actually pretty weird and challenging for a newborn ointment, employing a reverse pyramid strategy for a scent that starts cushioned and sweet but ends bitter and sharp. Bvlgari is an Italian luxury goods house fouded by Sotirios Voulgaris in 1884. The founder of the house, Sotirio Voulgaris, was originally from Greece, where he learned the jeweler's trade. He left his home town in 1877 and made his way to Corfu, and later to Naples, before landing in Rome in 1881. He started the Bvlgari company in 1884. but this kind of product (baby/mom perfumes and perfumes for smaller kids) has been existing for ages, so quite obviously there's a market for it, and my wild guess is just that whoever buys and regularly uses them on their kids happens to have kids who don't react allergic to them - I mean all the parents I know are very good and swift at identifying and tossing out anything that makes their kid itchy and have sleepless nights, because a kid's sleepless night is a parent's sleepless night as well as far as I gathered from observation ;) While "Bvlgari Petit Et Mamans" is designed with mothers and babies in mind, some adults also appreciate its gentle and comforting scent. It can be used by anyone who appreciates such fragrances. As for babies, like Viridian, I'd say leave em be. I get that in certain cultures it's usual to use scented oils or colognes for ritualistic it therapeutic reasons. I used to buy cheap colognes myself in Spain but I'd argue they're for freshening and cooling in hot climates not to actually perfume, tenuous I admit.
