No matter what you choose, you will get a premium cordless vacuum cleaner that will take a lot of work off your shoulders. While the overall cleaning performance of the V11 (see down below) was still quite good (nearly flawless in fact), I still think the soft roller head makes a noticeable difference on hard surfaces. Torque Drive Cleaning Head The V11 also has a longer battery life, automatic suction adjustment to improve run-time, and an LCD screen. Both the v10 and the v11 are available in various models that come with different accessories and with slightly different features. Both come in Absolute models, which offer a balanced mix of features. The v10 is available in an Animal model targeted at pet hair, while the v11 has a Torque model that skips the soft roller brush to focus on more heavy-duty accessories. You may also be able to find Pro models of both that include larger kits. The v11 was also designed with an Outsize model that’s essentially a larger, very different vacuum, which isn’t really comparable to the v10 or v11.

Dyson V10 and V11 Cordless Vacuums
Aside from the heavier design and addition of a screen, the Dyson V11 and Dyson V10 share many of the same design features. They both have 0.76 litre dustbin capacities, which is relatively large for a cordless vacuum. They also have Dyson’s “Point and Shoot” dust bin emptying system, which makes it easier to release dirt and prevents dust getting caught, and a bagless design.
The V10 weighed a sprightly 2.6kg, while the V11 weighs in at just over 3kg, thanks to that bigger battery. With around an hour of run-time, you should have enough power to whizz round an entire house. After all, with the trigger action, you’re only using battery power while physically vacuuming. Those with larger houses may find that the run-time isn’t quite enough. With 4.5 hours for charging, some people may need to change their cleaning schedule a little to get a full clean. The brand-new emptying function of the Dyson V10 is the same in the V11 model. You can empty the container by using a slider on the bottom side. You’ll be able to empty it with pinpoint accuracy into the trash. The MotorYou can switch to turbo mode if you have to deal with stubborn dirt. If it’s only light dirt, the minimum level will be sufficient. There is no question, the V11 Outsize is a notable improvement over the V11 Torque Drive & Animal. However, it’s also more expensive. What this means is that the V11 can run for longer at higher powers than the V10. This is particularly noticeable when using the V11’s “Auto” mode, as the vacuum intelligently adapts to the floor surface to avoid wasting battery. Instead of getting around 25-30 minutes on “Normal” mode with the V10, the V11 is capable of getting 25-45 minutes of run-time when using the “Auto” function. If you compare the Dyson V10 vs V11, you’ll notice that the dirt container hasn’t only remained the same in terms of the arrangement. The capacity of the container hasn’t changed either. From our experience, 0.76 l is sufficient for cleaning a 120 sqm flat.With three outstanding V11 models to choose from – Animal, Absolute and Torque Drive – there’s plenty of choice in the Dyson V11 range. If you have a pet, then the V11 Animal might be the best bet to shift that stubborn pet hair. However, if you have a higher budget then the V11 Absolute and V11 Torque Drive come with extra floor heads that help to clean even the most stubborn of surfaces. Like the V10, the new Dyson V11 features an “in-line configuration” where the motor, bin, and cyclone array are all aligned, meaning “air is drawn into the cyclones in a straight line”– which helps maintain inertia and increases the suction power.
Both vacuums performed very well in our comparison, and it's not easy to say which one’s the better deal. Note: Dyson also sells a larger version of the V11, called the V11 Outsize. We haven’t included the Outsize in this comparison, but it’s worth considering if you need a bigger vacuum. A remarkable innovation is that Dyson has developed an automatic mode with the Med suction level. It adapts to the floor surface. As a result, the vacuum achieves a longer runtime - up to 60 minutes.
