About this deal

Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options.

There's a 24G2U variant available in some regions that should perform similarly, but it includes a USB hub and built-in speakers.Obviously wont compete with a VA panelled monitor for contrast but thats not what IPS ecels at so it's a trade off but this monitor pretty much excels in every department. The AOC 24G2U's 144 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms MPRT and FreeSync Premium support eliminate stuttering and tearing. I would use the monitor with low input lag option switched on and overdrive on the strong level if online competitive gaming is your thing. Setting the Overdrive to ‘Boost’ activates the MBR (Motion Blur Reduction) technology, which via backlight strobing further reduces the perceived motion blur. The AOC 24G2 FreeSync range is 48-144Hz, and it works with compatible NVIDIA GPUs without issues as it’s officially certified as ‘G-SYNC Compatible.

They mention that it can be adjusted up and down, has a versatile stand with plenty of options for height, tilt and is wall-mountable. Bright Frame: Lets you adjust the brightness and contrast of a selected area independently from the rest of the screen. As you’ll all likely know by now, DVI is the current standard for connection of a PC or other display generator to a digital display output. There’s a lot more to High Definition than just having the ability to run your screen at the right resolution. The Dell delivers a better gaming experience because it has a much higher refresh rate of 240Hz and faster response times. It's good for general office use as long as you don't do any heavy multitasking because it's limited in screen real estate. I recommend downloading the G-Menu program from AOC, as this allows you to change the monitor's settings without using the fiddly buttons on the bottom of the monitor's chin bar.

Not much of an issue though, as you're probably only going to tweak a few things and then leave it for the rest of its life. The cutout in the stand is for cable management, and there's a quick-release feature to remove the stand for VESA-mounting.In the past, we have been treated to HD (high definition), denoting the screen is capable of running a minimum 720p resolution. Its 24" 1080p screen is big enough if you only work with a few windows open, but it isn't ideal for heavy multitaskers. This monitor actually looks better than the one I used to have so I can game at high refresh rates with low input and fast response times with great colours and vibrancy. Another crucial thing to note regarding IPS panel displays is IPS glow, which is an expected downside of this panel technology.
