We did find that, after intense physical activity, there was some dampness in the armpit area. But we’d still recommend this product for most users looking for a high-quality, clinical strength, hybrid product. Areas around the vagina are way more sensitive than other parts of the body. Hence, besides considering other factors, make sure to look for fragrance-free products. Any type of synthetic fragrance can cause infection and break down sensitive skin. If you have unexplained vaginal bleeding, it may be a sign of an infection or problem. Chlamydia and gonorrhoea are both STI’s and can cause bleeding between periods in women. They can also cause an unusual discharge and pain when peeing. However, although it’s fragrance-free, the concentration of active ingredients may be too strong for those with sensitive skin.
How common is bacterial vaginosis?
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is caused by an imbalance of bacteria in the vagina. Normally, a good balance of bacteria live in the vagina, and help to keep it healthy. In BV, this balance is disrupted, and an overgrowth of different bacteria develops. Sexually transmitted infections. Various sexually transmitted infections can affect the vagina, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital warts, syphilis and genital herpes. Signs might include abnormal vaginal discharge or genital sores. Bacterial vaginosis is treated with antibiotics. An antibiotic cream or gel to use in the vagina may be given instead of antibiotic tablets by mouth. In total, we tested over 35 products from both popular and lesser-known brands in The Verywell Testing Lab. Our team of testers included 15 editors, each with their own unique experience in using deodorants and antiperspirants. For the test, each tester was instructed to apply the deodorant or antiperspirant to a clean and dry armpit, engage in at least 15 minutes of heart rate-elevating activity, and subsequently perform a sniff test. They also took note of any wetness or odor after 24 hours of wear. Sometimes the balance of these bacteria changes. If this happens you can develop bacterial vaginosis. More importantly, using heavily scented deodorants around the vulva can irritate the sensitive skin down there. Some of the products we tested fell short in one or more key attributes, causing us to omit them from our final list of recommendations.
