About this deal
Despite the inherent cringiness that comes with something being labeled a ‘Special Collector Edition,’ this comic-based version of the God of Mischief is actually pretty great.
On Monday, Diamond revealed official images of their new Loki figure, which is officially titled ‘Loki Special Collector Edition Action Figure Set.’ There were photos of the set that leaked last week, but this our first really good look at it. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (March 2022): This is an easy one. Michael Waldron, the head writer of Loki, was tapped to write the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel as well. This, he said, meant that any confusion he created with the timelines in Loki became his to rearrange in The Multiverse of Madness: “Yeah, we’ll leave that for the next writers," he remembers thinking. “But then you do that on Loki, and you find yourself writing Doctor Strange—and you have to clean up your own mess.” Thor: Love and Thunder (May 2022): Fan-favorite Jaimie Alexander is rumored to reappear as Lady Sif in Thor: Love and Thunder, and some fans are hoping she’ll appear in Loki as well. No confirmation either way, but it would be very strange to not have these two story lines intersect in some way. Like most Marvel Select figures, it has 16 points of articulation and is approximately 7″ tall. Loki’s coat is also removable, which is sure to be a relief to those who want to pose Loki fighting someone on their shelves. As far as accessories are concerned, the figure comes with interchangeable arms (which is sure to make removing the coat easier), a sword, his sceptor, and a dagger that can fit in a sheath on his belt. But the real star of the accessory line up is the 5″ tall Kid Loki that’s included. It’s not posable (BOO!), but is still a very cool addition.
