The book had a promising premise; the beginning was good with an interesting backstory, but unfortunately, the execution fell short. Years later the tables have turned, Emery is living in closet barely scrapping monies to tackle a day and Nash is the wealthy monster who seeks revenge on any Winthrop. i’ve never been more intrigued🫣like yes…give me nothing, but just enough to make me wanna read it asap😋i feel like i’ve never gone into a book this blind.

This might be an epic love story or a great book, I am trully happy for the readers who were thrilled, but it was not for me. Don’t start this one unless you intend to get sucked in for hours, because this is one book you won’t be able to put down. MC characters: Devious Lies consumes us in a heartbreaking tale of Emery Winthrop, a passionate girl who puts new words on T-shirts everyday. Get rid of the extraneous fluff, flesh out the characters and pot holes, rectify the inconsistencies, and it could be great. If you go into this thinking it'll be the umpteenth novel filled with flying dicks and acrobatic sex, you've picked up the wrong book.Okay, this was my second attempt at reading Devious Lies and I'm annoyed I gave up so early the first time. Why is it that two people never realize how much they love each other until one of them says goodbye?

guys it was so bad that when characters were having conversations…i’d forget what the conversation was about because there would be so much shit in between the actual dialogue if that makes any sense. i just want to know who wrote these little scenes because it couldn’t have been parker…this is why i said earlier in my review that she needed to pick a writing style. I’m with you on the underwhelming reaction to finding out they’d been each other’s anonymous “pen pal. Don't get me wrong, dicks are flying and there's some smut, but this book is SO MUCH MORE than that. Unfortunately, for her, she ambushes Reed’s older brother, Nash, who is much grumpier and very rude.

I’ve been missing the bite that darker enemies to lovers romances like this have, and I might need to start reading more of it again.
