About this deal
Once we left the shop he sprayed this all over himself. And it was that moment I realised what he was on about . Obviously I did not admit to it because the absolute filthy look I gave him earlier in the day. Staging signature collections for over twenty years during Paris Fashion Week – ever since the first Haute Couture collection in Spring/Summer 1998 – Viktor&Rolf creations evoke a provocative spirit infused with surreal contrasts.
Not a versatile scent, but rarely any is, and many of my friends and colleagues found it appealing and interesting. On my skin, projection is fantastic for the first two or three hours, and it leaves and big sillage bubble around you. So, the people in clubs or bars won’t have any issues getting nice whiffs around you. The opening is almost all vanilla, and is quite powerful. It is also sweet at this point. Projects quite strongly during the opening. I am not a huge fan of this vanilla-heavy opening, but it does fade after a bit.
Viktor & Rolf actually described this as saffron accord, and I would agree – saffron has an earthy, spicy, and somewhat leathery scent. The fact that one fragrance is kind of created for a specific occasion and season can be a turn-off for some people which is understandable. But, sometimes we need that one scent that we choose for special dates and events that we can’t say no to them. Made this my SOTD for the last 2 days, and I don't want to say I'm disappointed, because I'm not buuuuuut
I remember buying the flowerbomb and just discovering the brand really and as exploring I tried the spicebomb and dang. I think a year or two later I've bought my own bottle. for me it's only one to two sprays is more than enough. this is super strong and spicy. this lil guy here is the one to draw heads and people commenting on it immediately. I remember I was in a hotel, went down for a breakfast and this older man was there with his wife. as I'm getting into the dining room he just stops everything and starts to look for the source of the intense smell hahaha. well as for the smell itself~ Compared to original SB, which I also have, extreme is a little harsher in the opening, much sweeter, and more of a gourmand. I have to say, extreme lasts longer too. Spraying in the evening, you will definitely still notice in in the morning (while original SB would be barely noticeable). Sillage seems to be moderate, and not as strong seeming to me as a lot of folks experience. Anecdotally, I passed my wife in the kitchen and she said "Oh that smells nice!" but she was probably less than 3ft away from me. Your mileage may vary. In conclusion: The original Spicebomb is a lot better than the Extreme version when it comes to overall performance. The OG is unique for its rich and spicy scent. Spicebomb Extreme gets rid of that characteristic, turning it into a mediocre fragrance.Too bad that I could think of at least five to ten fragrances that do the same linear thing with spicy oriental compositions on a similar level of quality for less money, and much better quality at the higher price point.
From what I can recall, the original Spicebomb was a more spicy fragrance than Extreme and leaned more to the masculine side which makes this one equally suited for both sexes. A man or woman could also take a brisk walk in autumn or winter, in a sharp, smart-looking coat and a long, luxurious scarf while smelling of Spicebomb. They would smell AMAZING and everyone who hugged them when they got to the pub would comment on their wonderful scent. This scent hitting the chilly air is a great thing. I know about a couple of situations where people were asked to step aside when airport x-ray found out they had a “hand grenade” in their luggage. Anyway, as for the smell itself, there is not too much to say. I think a slightly burnt gingerbread smell describes it perfectly. It has this great sweet, vanilla smell with some spice around the edges. Very pleasant, and quite masculine, although I am sure plenty of women would find this suitable as well.
Eau de Toilette
Experience a sensory explosion with Spicebomb Extreme, the intense Eau de Parfum for men by Viktor&Rolf. After realising that this smells better on my skin than a man I used to see for a short period of time, I bought the bottle for myself. I feel like I'm the only woman that uses this but I believe it creates a wonderful enigmatic aura combined with my tiny frame. This is what I imagine an Old Fashioned would smell like without the booze. The citrus (orange is what comes to mind) takes center stage on my skin, but it's not fresh (I tend to dislike citrus on my skin) but rather warm and inviting because of the strong cinnamon and soft leather and tobacco. This stays linear throughout; the only difference is the dry down when the citrus softens up and sits on the same level as the rest of the notes, making it a very cozy scent (the kind that makes you want to snuggle up with fuzzy, soft laundry right out of the dryer). Still, even with the sweetness of the orange, the cinnamon and pepper are very prominent, so if you are sensitive to spices, be aware that these are all up in your nose for the whole ride.
Overall, Spicebomb Extreme is very seductive, dark, rich, and safe to say sexy. Its undoubted allure will definitely get you compliments and deep sniffs from the ones who detect it on you. This is one of the most famous fall/winter fragrances, most suitable for night time wear. It probably goes without saying, but this is NOT an office friendly fragrance.Spicebomb Extreme by Viktor & Rolf is a fragrance made for frosty, winter nights, but it can work great during fall as well. Visiting a local perfume store is always the best option as you get the chance to test the fragrance before buying and consulting with their associate about it. Viktor & Rolf have their own store locator which you can use to find the closest shop. The only downside to this is that you’ll pay the retail price which is significantly higher.
