Somehow the first few chapters read like any other women's fiction book to me, especially because I chuckled quite a few times.

I was really excited about what I thought was being built up to, but it ended up going off on a completely different tangent to the one I was expecting.She falls for him and at first they are very happy together, but Heath isn't who he appears to be and his behaviour becomes out of control and his jealousy increases. There is plenty of tension and suspenseful moments and some well thought out plot twists as it builds to a very good ending. A unusual and thrilling tale of long kept secrets and dangerous obsession, combined with a cast of very strong characters.

I was absolutely delighted to learn that Dorothy Koomson, one of my top ten, or quite possibly even my top five favourite authors had written a new novel. But now she has decided to walk away from it all - including divorcing her husband, Wallace - before her past secrets catch up with her. This was my first Koomson book (even though I've had one of her previous books on my shelf for the last 11 years, it's moved with me 7 times! I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nail, troubled many times as certain revelations took place. She always makes it clear where in the story we are though so despite the back and forth I never feel lost.

Why has she told the TV company that no more shows will be made, and why on earth is she divorcing Wallace? They absorbed the nonsense and made me not mind as much if they went off on random tangents that were nothing to do with me. We follow Cleo and Heath, and their friend Trina, through university and beyond and grow to understand Cleo and Heath’s relationship.
