But no - we have instead a goofy resolution in which Michael swoops in to save Mia as she’s trying to persuade an antivaxxer relative to see the light. The thing is, Mia’s idea was good! She brings a former antivaxxer relative, a peer of this one, to explain why Covid is a genuine threat. We all know that quoting scientific facts like Michael often doesn’t convince antivaxxers, so would it not have been more effective to both make Mia’s strategy work AND reinforce how socially and verbally intelligent she is???? I guess the goopy love declaration and the kiss at the end are supposed to do that for us!

There was a small Princess Diaries Vibe to it as well!! The characters and setting were really easy to get into if you like old english speaking!! Just when Mia thought she had the whole Princess thing under control… Things get out of hand, fast! There’s the havoc of the interivew’s aftermath and her dreaded princess lessons at the Plaza. Plus an unexpected announcement from her mother and intriguing, exasperating letters from a secret admirer. Mia is swept up in a whirlwind of royal intrigue the likes of which hasn’t been seen since volume I of The Princess Diaries. The latest book in the Lincoln Lawyer series comes out this month. This will be the 7th book in that series, and the 41st book in the Bosch Universe. Harry Bosch also plays a big part in this book. When they are married she is unhappy, and wants to annul it by not letting Hugo have his way with her on their wedding night (again). But wait, didnt they already to that 3 times that day. The writing and plot were my favourite bits of this book though! Cabot's signature sarcastic humour and lively storytelling were the main reason I finished reading this book. There were several moments when I was giggling at hilarious dialogue and the nasty mishaps these characters kept falling into. A student at AEHS, Tina is the daughter of a Saudi Arabian oil sheik and a British former supermodel. Because of her father's status, she has to have the protection of a bodyguard, Wahim, which isolates her from the other students until Mia sits with her after a fight with Lilly in the first novel.

The book is a bunch of diary entries by Princess Mia. She is a grown-up now and ruling Genovia like a boss. She is now a mother of twins and married to Michael. From the outside looking in, she has a perfect life. But then the coronavirus starts hitting the news and she is about to face another challenging task; trying to keep the people of Genovia safe while raising her family. I wasn't expecting much of a plot. The plot is predictable, but it is comical and enjoyable. However, the plot only really appears in the last half of Ransom My Heart and it's extremely clear who the antagonists are. We never got a resolution to the Lars-Lilly thing. Why was she so anti-men all of a sudden? We never found out

stars. The Princess Diaries series has always had the unusual ability to be both more and less than meets the eye, and this volume is no exception. While it’s a light read and a nice hello with old friends, unfortunately it was too overly saturated with politics and social issues to be enjoyable. A historical, fun filled romance. This book was "written" by Princess Mia (of course she had help by Meg Cabot)But unlike the Princess Diaries books, this book is NOT YA friendly.
