About this deal

If you're new to skincare and find the vast array of products overwhelming, and they certainly can be, or if you just want to know more, try this book. Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook). I would highly recommend this book for its no-nonsense approach to anyone and everyone to keep look after their skin. A firm campaigner against anything that claims to give you “squeaky clean skin”, Hirons says that foaming cleansers can often be very drying, noting sodium lauryl sulphate/sodium laureth sulfate (SLS/SLES) as the skin-stripping culprit. Caroline states that any good formulation is ready to go as soon as you squeeze a drop onto your face.

mul ei ole probleemi ka 20-aastaste naistega ja nende iluga, aga mul on vaja guru, kes teab, mis tunne on mitte enam olla 20. Though the Cetaphil also contains SLS, I’m pretty sure that the glycerin proportion is way higher there. My near perfect treat it as bad as you want skin is rebelling and talking to me and showing me on some days that it’s clearly not happy. After reading my age bracket (20's - mid 30's) I need to not only invest in a hyaluronic acid but an acid toner and antioxidant serum. ja mul on vaja guru, kes end niiviisi väljendab - "no-nonsense" raamatu alapealkirjas kirjeldab Caroline'i stiili tabavalt. We started out by following the book’s advice to “spray hydrated” but our oily skin just didn’t need it as often as suggested. Well, having looked at the photo in Caroline Hirons’s book, it looks exactly like perioral dermatitis – and according to her it can be caused by “sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) in toothpaste and cleansers… The biggest single difference for me personally was using toothpaste that did not contain any SLS.

Also handy that Caroline is UK based so loads of good guidance on products you can pick up in the UK (can't comment on how available some of these steps internationally but I found it useful for sure). I’ve already learned a few new things I wasn’t aware of, and I can see myself referring to this book on a regular basis. Let me introduce myself, I'm Lucy, a green tea advocate, cat mother and an award winning blogger from South Wales. It seemed generalized toward everyone as a whole rather than recommending specific routines/products for oily vs dry vs sensitive, etc. It felt nice for non-make-up days, though, but was too much underneath, so we only sprayed when necessary. sama sisu saaks edasi anda ka nii, et ta majapidamises vähem ruumi võtaks (kasvõi fotode ja leheküljesuuruselt trükitud ühelauseliste tsitaatide arvelt), aga selgelt on ühtaegu tegu ka CH fännitootega, mille ostsin rõõmuga kõvakaanelisena ja panen oma riiulisse aukohale teiste tähtsate teadjanaiste kõrvale. Caroline gets rid of the myths and fables and is down to earth about what is real and what is just hearsay. Her no-nonsense style, focusing on understanding and layering ingredients, makes you feel like better skin is achievable.

We never thought to leave our skin damp after cleansing, but now we’ll never bother to pat dry again. There are a few pages more of given topics (eg acne from having to wear masks in Covid times) and the book description says there are also new pictures and products recommendations have been updated. As advised in the book, we used this with our new flannels as the first of our double cleanse to remove make-up – and we have to say, it melted everything seamlessly. see on ka üks põhjus, miks ta mulle nii istub - ma ei oska ega viitsi end meikida ja loodan sellele, et kui näonahaga hästi ümber käin, siis pole väga vaja ka.

I thought I knew a lot about skincare when I got this book, but I actually learnt A LOT from reading this too. Her casual and humorous approach to common skincare topics makes this book a real reading pleasure - for beauty addicts as well as for skincare beginners. I somehow managed to grab a copy of this in Ireland before it’s official release date and (as a devoted skin care freak) have devoured it since.

Otherwise, you're just rubbing products into your hands and they're getting the most benefit, not your face. She goes through every questions you may have had about your skin - how to clean it, take off your makeup, what you should use morning and what you should use at night. I also took photos of her essay against the rampant greenwashing in the “natural”/“clean” beauty movement, which I plan on forwarding to all of my friends who ask me for “clean” or “toxin-free” skincare recommendations. If you want to learn more about skincare or want to improve your skincare game, you can't go wrong with this. Harper’s Bazaar ‘The Skincare legend…’ Get the gloss ‘The internet's authority on skincare, Caroline Hiron's debut non-fiction book is a no nonsense guide to skincare – and getting the nation off face wipes for good. Whether you're a beginner in the skincare world or a seasoned skincare nerd, this book will be a delight to read for everyone, regardless of their skincare knowledge.
