About this deal

The first human clinical trial with Akkermansia muciniphila was published in the online edition of Nature Medicine on July 1, 2019. Thirty-two subjects with pre-diabetes and evidence of metabolic syndrome (abdominal obesity, elevated blood lipids, high blood pressure, etc.) were randomized to get either a placebo or live or heat-killed (pasteurized) A. muciniphila . The active treatment groups taking A. muciniphila took around 10 billion bacteria (either dead or alive) daily for three months. Rampelli, S. et al.
