The band members are depicted with green eyes from left to right, Doyle, Jerry Only (front/center), Glenn Danzig and Robo. Following the legal proceedings sparked by the “Legacy” album, fans would finally hear many classic-era Misfits recordings as they were originally intended, starting with the long awaited release of the legendary “Static Age” album in 1996. Limited edition colored vinyl LPs were also released. In North America, the first LP pressing was a limited edition of 1,000 pcs on 100-gram solid blue vinyl. The 1997 live version of Monster Mash (from the B-side of the glow in the dark vinyl single) was provided for completists, but Roadrunner A&R chose not to include it on the comp, using only the A-side studio version from the 1999 single instead. In it’s initial release on LP and cassette in 1985, 1,000 copies were pressed in colored vinyl (500 red vinyl LPs and 500 white vinyl LPs). The video repeated on MTV several times in addition to being featured on the Sci-Fi channel. The first US pressing, (as well as the Italian issued import), of the 1982 released LP featured a pink logo and pink cover. The second pressing introduced the purple cover commonly known today. When the album was reissued in 1988, the logo was switched to green and has remained that way since. It’s estimated that approx. 3,000 of the promo Halloween bags were circulated in 1988. not long after that, i found a 12" bootleg of "Beware" and even for a raw needle-drop from a source with notable surface noise, it totally blew away any other versions of those songs i ever heard before. The music video for “American Psycho” included the instrumental intro “Abominable Dr. Phibes” and brought Basil Gogos’ cover art to life. The video had its world premiere at Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention in New York City. The screening was followed by a Q&A (hosted by Fangoria editor-in-chief Tony Timpone) with the Misfits joined by cover artist Basil Gogos and Director John Cafiero. The original Misfits broke up in October 1983, having released several 7" singles and 12" records, all of which were DIY limited-edition and most of which were hand-assembled by the band, that have long been considered prime collectors' items. On The Go

Project 1950 was the first full-length release from the newly launched indie label “Misfits Records” and the first to be distributed under the deal with Rykodisc (now Rykodisc/Warner Bros) as exclusive distributor. The CD booklet included in North American pressings folds out to form a poster of the full cover painting by legendary “Famous Monster of Filmland” magazine cover artist; Basil Gogos. The first CD release was issued in 1992 by Caroline Records as a limited edition Gold CD (estimated at 15,000 copies). Caroline had continually reissued the album in LP and cassette format since its debut.

Static Age” was recorded in 1978 utilizing free studio time provided by Mercury Records. Mercury and the Misfits were both using the name “Blank Records” at the time, (Mercury as an imprint for Pere Ubu and the Misfits as their imprint for the '77 debut single “Cough Cool”). Mercury wanted full ownership of the “Blank” name and offered a barter deal. The Misfits agreed, gave up the “Blank” name to Mercury in exchange for 30 hours of free studio time and the “Static Age” soon began. The video for “Dig Up Her Bones” features clips from the 1935 horror classic "The Bride of Frankenstein”, (a personal request of the Misfits), as the film provided inspiration for the song. Sarah Karloff, known Misfits supporter and daughter of Boris Karloff, personally gave her permission for the use of her father's likeness and Elsa Lanchester's estate (who represent the woman behind the "The Bride"), gave their consent as well. Two cuts of the “Bones” video were released, both identical except for an intro utilizing the Universal Pictures logo of the 1930’s and a dialogue based clip from the “Bride of Frankenstein”. Fiend Facts: American Psycho was the first album featuring new material from the Misfits in over a decade and followed Jerry Only’s efforts to resurrect the band in 1995. The Devil's Rain" is the judgment of all others who stand before us, like a prophecy. The old B-movie was an influence to some of the lyrics, but the song itself is as if the heavens opened and swallowed our enemies. They have...and a new “rain” of terror begins"The first LP pressing in ‘83 included approx. 1,000 colored vinyl LPs estimated at 100 green, 500 yellow, 200 purple and 200 clear vinyl (most with colored swirls). Fiend Facts: North American & European pressings of Misfits Project 1950 include the above-mentioned bonus DVD but the Japanese pressing does not. The CD distributed by Video Arts in Japan included a rare limited edition 5” vinyl record of the Misfits studio version of “Day the Earth Caught Fire” (on Side A) and an unreleased live recording of Jerry Only performing the song with Balzac in concert in Japan (on Side B). For it’s debut release within the Misfits box set, “Static Age” was re-mastered using a cassette layoff of the final mix from 1978. The rare cassette had been kept in a safe deposit box at a Lodi, NJ bank for years by original Misfits guitarist Franché Coma. Had it not been for Frank (aka Franché) providing that source, the album may have never seen the light of day. The tape was in great shape, having been stored in a temperature-controlled environment for all those years.
