About this deal

I have read other books recently where someone has been wrongfully imprisoned and gotten out trying to prove their innocence, and they have been a much better read than this one. I was glad that the timescale that had lapsed was only ten years, as anything longer always makes these types of stories harder to swallow. What does wind me up about these kinds of premises, though, is why wasn’t all of this investigated by the lawyers and the accused before the trial? Surely the trial wasn’t the day after she was charged, but there was a period of time when the lawyers would gather their defence. Why wasn’t all of this looked into, then? Even if Heather were on remand, she would have had a team of people helping her. When Sarah rescues a young girl in trouble, she expects nothing in return. But her act of bravery puts a powerful and dangerous man in her debt. He lives by his own brutal code, and all debts must be repaid - in the only way he knows how.

The Mother by T.M. Logan | Goodreads

When Connor misses his curfew, it sets off a series of events that will change the lives of five families forever. Heather is out on parole for the murder of her husband. Yet she still proclaims her innocence. The mother is a tale of how far you would go to clear your name.A very exciting experience. The audio book version I’ve just finished left me in panic mode! The pitch and power of this narrator is spot on, talk about upping the tempo at the end! An irresistible new thriller . . . Logan has devised anintricate plot of shifting loyalties and duelling timelines, but the real triumph in The Mother is that fierce, flawed title character. She's a mother like no other. * A.J. Finn, International bestselling author of The Woman in the Window * I live in Bristol and I knew all the landmarks, streets of the areas this author used in this book, it trebled the enjoyment for me as I could recognise these areas in my minds eye. Very impactful. I was up and down with how I felt about this book. One minute I was loving it and wrapped up in the fast-paced drama. Other times I felt like I was slugging my way through it to find out why Heather had been framed. It was both slow and fast; it was both exciting and boring. I am still determining how I feel about it overall. I’ve not watched any of his dramas so I’m certainly going to correct this and read more of his work. Why have I never before this? I have no idea except too many books little time.

The Mother by T.M. Logan | Waterstones

Ten years ago Heather Vernon was found guilty of the brutal murder of her husband, Liam, an up and coming MP. Newly released on licence Heather is determined to discover who actually murdered her husband so that she can clear her name and be reunited with her sons. I’ve been enjoying the TV adaptation of one of TM Logan’s other novels, The Catch, so having is latest to read as well was perfect timing! Whilst this was another entertaining read, I found it slightly different from what I was expecting.

It was supposed to be the perfect holiday - a group of families enjoying a week together in the sun. Four women who have been best friends for as long as they can remember making the most of a luxurious villa in the south of France. A propulsive, unrelentingly compelling thriller ' B. P Walter, Sunday Times bestselling author of THE DINNER GUEST What a brilliant fast paced thriller read this is it kept me glued to my seat throughout. All the characters were well described and there were plenty of things happening to throw you off the scent, so many twists and turns.

There was a phone call, a women's voice, a lie, and an argument. I could feel the tension building as the story progressed. There are certain things I love as a reader, when the book from the beginning pulls me in & doesn’t let go , when I’m given multiple twists and when the ending is really an ending ( I don’t like it to end too soon or drag out too long). This book had all of that and more. A tense and compelling thriller that demands to be read in one sitting, with a final twist that will make you gasp . . . Logan belongs in the top echelons of British thriller writers' Sunday Express There was something so captivating about this audio! I could not put it down! (or pull the ear-buds out!)
