About this deal
So for the cost of a few changes of D batteries, the Rechargeable Battery Pack is a bit of a bargain in my eyes. If you’ve never played with a fully automatic blaster before, you’re in for a treat with the Nemesis.
Since you load the Nemesis in this way you would possibly expect the hopper to be fixed, but you can actually remove it. They built this big guy with older folks in mind (I'd say 12 and up crowd) so its a HEAVY toy without s ome sort of strap. This beast boasts an amazing high-capacity hopper that can hold up to 100 rounds that are not lacking in the impact department. Fully-loaded and fully-charged, we found the Nemesis could fire for about 25 seconds non-stop, with the need for a periodic shake to get the balls flowing again. It makes for a fun in hand experience for the older set like myself but for the target demographic of real actual children, that weight could be a problem.
If you find your Nemesis will not spin up, the first thing to check is whether the hopper door is shut. I am still amazed that the best performance I have got from the Rival range is the baby Appollo’s 102 FPS!There is always a short delay until the first round is fired, but this is more than injection style autos like the RapidStrike, and far larger than a semi-auto like the Stryfe for example. The Nemesis is compatible with the Hera MXVII-1200's battery tray, meaning that it can potentially take "C" batteries instead of "D" ones. They’re fun to have and look great, but honestly, they don’t really add much value when it comes to the accuracy of your firing.
Right now, the closest thing you can get to a bottomless drum of ammo is the Nemesis's 100-round hopper and let me tell you it is a true joy. With D batteries I managed an average of 94 FPS, which is pretty good, but the rechargeable pack chalked up an average muzzle velocity of 101FPS.If the Nemesis does jam (which rarely happens), the entire hopper chamber can be pulled out, which gives you almost full access to the internal mechanism. But it’s worth pointing out that you do sometimes need to shake the blaster a bit to allow the rounds to be sucked into the funnel. I believe the plastic make up of this product makes it fragile in nature, at what this product costs, I feel it should be made of a more durable material. We also got our son the Nerf RIVAL Nemesis MXVII-10K Blaster this year and wanted to share with you just how AMAZINGLY cool it is. After your hopper is loaded you have to shut the door otherwise the lock will stop you revving up the blaster.
