About this deal

In this auto-biography about her you find out about her teachers, schools, parents, outings, holidays and friends. I also loved the way it was an autobigoraphy but written for children, so ti wasn’t a bit tiresome and boring to read, but exciting and colourful, and most certainly enjoyable. The book came with a tiny bend at the top right hand corner and the page layer had been slightly pulled so it's bent and you can visabley see the book is a little damaged. I thought it was a very interesting book because even though there wasn’t a story plot, you got to see what it was like to be Jacqueline Wilson when she was younger and what it was like living with her family and growing up.

The book details her very early life, from babyhood to the summer she was 11, when she is about to start at secondary school. I felt sorry for her when her Dad, Harry got into these terrible rants, and when Biddy, her Mom was forever telling her to pull her stomach in. Jacqueline has won the prestigious Smarties Prize and the Children's Book Award for DOUBLE ACT, which was also highly commended for the Carnegie Medal. But who would've guessed that she would grow up to be the mega-bestselling, award-winning Jacqueline Wilson! Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids.As well as winning many awards for her books, including the Children's Book of the Year, Jacqueline is a former Children's Laureate, and in 2008 she was appointed a Dame. She has written over 70 best-selling books, and several have even been adapted for TV – most famously The Story of Tracy Beaker.

Jacqueline Wilson takes a look back at her own childhood in this captivating story of friendships, loneliness, books, toys, parents and much more. As the fourth Children's Laureate (2005-2007) she promoted the importance of sharing books, and reading aloud together. For me though I did find it quite slow to get through, it was a struggle as the topics were so vague that just as you were getting into one it would switch. Because the story of Jacqueline Wilson of course doesn't end when she finishes primary school and knows she will be an author some day. Perhaps this is more of a 2 star read, but I loved the fact that Wilson narrated it; she has a delightful enthusiasm. But who would've guessed that she would grow up to be the mega-bestselling, award-winning Jacqueline Wilson? From the very first story she wrote, "Meet the Maggots", it was clear that this little girl had a very vivid imagination.
