About this deal

Having worked on many successful landscaping projects with Property Developers and Landscape Architects across the UK and Europe, we know you can specify WoodBlocX in the knowledge that our system will match the most exacting standards. This does depend on what you are planting, but it’s recommended that your soil is at least 12” deep. If you have wooden raised beds, it’s a good idea to line them to stop any chemicals the wood may have been treated with from leaching into the soil. However, you don’t have to line our metal raised beds, making life a lot easier.

Gardening can be time consuming and if you’re wanting to make it that little bit easier, a self-watering raised garden bed is worth considering. This style of bed is perfect for those who spend a lot of time away, and means you don’t need to lug heavy watering cans around with you! Green beans are easy to grow in a raised bed, and can be planted on trellises to save space. Green beans require full sun and good soil. The best time to plant them is after the last frost in the Spring. Kale For gardeners who regularly forget to water their plants, the intelligent water disc will be an invaluable feature. The disc reserves water and feeds flowers, herbs and plants as and when they need it. While deep beds are more expensive to fill, they will require less watering in the summer and allow you more options when it comes to planting. They didn't include paper instructions weirdly using Covid 19 as an excuse not to do so. I had to print mine out and ran out of ink in my printer while doing so. Very inconvenient at the weekend.

Cedar is a popular choice of material thanks to its natural rot resistance and long lifespan. Cedar boards are stronger than other types of wood, and this is one of the more sustainable woods to source. It’s biodegradable so, provided it’s not treated, will eventually break down into the earth. Our raised beds and planters are also cross-braced, helping you avoid billow sides, which is a common issue with raised wooden beds. This means you’ll still have those lovely straight edges down the line, with the steel being strong enough to deal with heavy soil. How deep does a raised planter need to be?

At 120 x 120 cm, this raised bed is spacious enough to grow a number of plants, while still offering gardeners access to the very middle of the bed. If you prefer a rectangular raised bed, there’s also a 120 x 60 cm size available. This is perfect for those with smaller gardens to work with, and help you to make the most of every square foot of space. Size - long runs of beds can be inconvenient to manage, so opt for multiple smaller beds. Widths of less than 1.5m (5ft) should allow you to easily reach the centre without having to stand on the soilThere’s drainage holes in the legs of this planter, but it can be used without the legs if needed. Weighing just 2 kg, it’s easy to move to a sunny spot, even once filled with soil. As the base for a huge number of meals, growing onions in your garden can save you a fortune at the supermarket! These grow happily in raised beds but will need plenty of space above and below them. They are best grown in beds with an open base. Spinach Delicious either raw or cooked, kale is a great choice for raised beds in shadier spots. It prefers cooler weather, so ensure it has some respite from the sun on hot days.

Depending on weather conditions, we say it can take anywhere from several weeks, to several months to fully rust. Jason, one of our customers has shared a special tip for achieving that lovely rusty outer in just 2 days!It measures 121 x 61 x 30 cm. It doesn’t take up too much space, and is instead a good ‘medium’ size bed, suitable for most gardens. You’ll still be able to easily access the centre of the bed.

Our patented system makes it very easy to build our raised beds. Most designs can be constructed in a single day without any need for foundations, nails, screws or power tools - so you really can transform your garden in a weekend! To speed up your build, we recommend using our handy Dowel Cutter tool. The raised bed is popular for cultivating herbs, flowers, and fruits and vegetables on the terrace in the garden or yard. Flowers, herbs, and vegetables are comfortable for planting in these high grows raised garden beds. It manufactures corrugated steel sheets and special zinc aluminum that allows for high weather resistance. If you’re prone to over or under watering, the Outsunny Garden Raised Bed set should be at the top of your list. These four raised beds have a traditional rattan design as well as a self-watering system that’ll protect plants from forgetful or over-zealous gardeners! A good option is to plant kale next to tomato plants, as taller tomato plants will shade kale from the afternoon sun. Watering a Raised Bed Corrugated metal is one of the most popular choices for raised beds thanks to its industrial look and durability. It’s important the metal used is galvanised so it doesn’t rust. For style and durability, go for a combination of corrugated metal and wood like the image above.

If you plan to grow ericaceous (acid-loving) plants in a masonrybed, make sure to line it with recycled plastic to separate any lime in the mortar from plant roots.
