About this deal

Adult beetles emerge from the soil from late March to May, laying eggs from April until September. They overwinter in sheltered places, often in the soil but not always near lilies.

Always follow the instructions on the products. For edible plants, make sure the food plant is listed on the label and follow instructions on maximum number of applications, spray interval and harvest interval. Where you cannot tolerate lily beetles, manage them using the information above as your first course of action. A customer once mentioned to me that they planted their lilies alongside a garlic bulb and that seemed to help deter the lily beetle for them. Perhaps that may be worth a try also. Lilies and fritillaries can tolerate some damage from this insect. However in some cases plants can be stripped of all foliage which can affect the health of the bulb. The adult beetles overwinter away from host plants and so there is no suitable treatment outside of the growing season. Grazers is NOT a pesticide and is therefore safe for pets, wildlife, and the environment. It is an effective and easy solution to prevent damage caused by Red Lily Beetle on Lilies, Fritillaries and other members of the Liliaceae family. Ideal to use in gardens, allotments, and areas where children and pets are playing. Grazers Red Lily Beetle spray works by coating the leaf to prevent damage, but it also benefits the plant due to its unique formula.

How to plant Roselilies

Easy to use, spray on formula • Safe to use on edible and ornamental plants • Harmless to people, pets and the planet • Strengthens and stimulates growth • Absorbed into the foliage for longer lasting control • Easy ready to use spray, no dilution necessary J. Coulson These bulbs where amazing such a delight, I planted all 10 bulbs in one large container. Should I leave them in or take them out and let them dry out, protect from frost and replant next year. Grazers products are liquids, sold in either a ready-to-use (RTU) sprayable formulation or in concentrated form that requires dilution. This specific mix of calcium and adjuvant only works to keep away grazing pests when it is applied to the photosynthesising leaves, stems or flowers of any plant, thereby interacting with the plant’s own metabolic processes. All four products in the Grazers range are in liquid form and based around the plant nutrient calcium (the CaCl form), combined with a natural adjuvant of a plant extract to improve its plant interaction. The content of individual Grazers products differ in the amounts of these co-formulants, each depending on the circumstance, so orientated towards the pests’ grazing method and the plant type. Lilies prefer to be planted in a location with at least half a day’s full sunshine, if it’s a bit too shady they will lean their stems towards the sun. You can feed your lilies with a Tomato Feed to stimulate and strengthen your lilies when you start to see signs of growth. Make up your tomato feed with half the recommended dilution (written on the instructions on the bottle) and feed once every 3 weeks. Or you can use the "eco friendly" foliar spray Grazers G4, which reduces the feeding damage of lily beetle infestations. It also strengthens and stimulates plant growth. I've never used it, so I'd love to hear from anyone that has on how effective it is.
