About this deal

ClimaFlow for temperature control: Designed with ventilation panels, breathable foam and mesh fabrics to enhance air circulation and keep your child comfortable. The rotation is a so helpful, especially when a child is rear-facing. I have used a rear-facing car seat that doesn’t have this feature, since my child has become a toddler, and it is a lot harder work. Grows with your child: Designed to grow with your child, with nine adjustable headrest height positions and a harness that fits from birth up to 4 years. Samantha: I would love it if the Maxi Cosi Mica could be suitable for over 18kg, however I know that this is very difficult when using Isofix due to the weight limits on the Isofix bars. I am very keen on extended rear-facing seats because I know that it is proven to be safer than forward-facing in a collision. Other than that, I love all the features and find it very easy to install and use.

However, this will depend on whether your local recycling centre has facilities to separate hard or rigid plastics from other materials. It's worth calling the local recycling tip to see if it offers this service, otherwise it may have to go into landfill. Placing your little one into a car seat has never been more relaxed with the 360° rotation capabilities of the Maxi-Cosi Mica. Installation with ISOFIX for ease of mind and compliant with i-Size safety standards, it allows you to rotate the car seat for easy placement of your little one.Samantha: I really like the Maxi Cosi Mica and if I had been choosing a car seat when my son was younger, I would buy this car seat. It is an i-size seat, easy to install and rotates. It has all things that I would be looking for in a car seat. However, as my son is already not far off 18kg and he is only two, so I would not buy this seat for him now as he would outgrow it too soon. However, this is the case for most seats with harnesses especially when rear-facing. I really like Maxi Cosi as a brand and that would also influence my choice as I would feel confident buying a car seat from them as I feel that they are a company that produces safe car seats.

My son is used to rear facing and more than happy to bend his legs. I did put the seat forward facing and he seemed to have plenty of leg room and to be comfortable. You can change the recline on the seat but my son quite likes to be reclined and seems most comfortable that way. We often go on long journeys and he sleeps in the car. Kelly: Possibly the only things that I would change about the Mica is to make the top harness height slightly higher to cater for tall children and maybe moving the swivel button onto the side to make it easier to get to. But other than its a really great seat - simple to install, comfortable for the child, and easy to operate and get them in and out on a daily basis! When it comes to travel legislation across Europe, there are two safety standards that you should be aware of: R44 and R129/i-Size. Children up to the age of 12 years old or under a set height should always travel in a car seat that meets one of these approved standards. This is an extended rear-facing car seat that can be used from birth (with the Comfy Baby-Hugg Inlay, sold separately) until your child is four years old (or 105cm). Installation was much easier than the Maxi-Cosi Axissfix because it doesn’t have the top tether. The leg and Isofix points are easy to use and are a more secure fit, in my car, than the Axissfix, which moved more despite showing 3 green indicators. On this basis alone I would choose the Mica over the Axissfix because it felt more secure. R44 groups 0+ (birth to 13 kg), 1 (9 to 18 kg), or 2/3 (15 to 36 kg) are based on your child’s weight, not height and are suitable for children from birth up to 12 years old. In accordance with the law, your baby must travel rearward-facing for at least 9 months. However, R44/04 products are going to be phased out in the future and i-Size will become the standard for car seats. Read more about ECE R44.
