About this deal

The DadPad gives support to new fathers who can often feel left out and unable to help when they’re needed most, and this can put a strain on both parents. Rowena added: 'Alongside the DadPad app there is a hard copy DadPad Neonatal book that will support dads when their baby is admitted, planned or unplanned, to the neonatal unit. We’re also pleased to share that a co-parent pad has been developed to achieve fill inclusivity and offers a bespoke resource for the LGBTQIA+ community which we’re really excited about as well. It is designed to reduce your anxieties, create a strong bond and healthy attachment with your baby, build stronger family relationships and recognise when you or your partner might need to get help for your mental health.

Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the service reopens. Cllr Lorraine Beardmore, cabinet member for culture, leisure and public health said: “I am thrilled that the city council has been able to work with the team at DadPad to launch this fantastic free app in Stoke-on-Trent. We expect that it will enable new dads to play an active role in helping improve the health and wellbeing outcomes families in the city. Although we hope that this DadPad will help you and your family with some of the questions and problems that may arise over the coming weeks, always remember that, if you're unsure about anything to do with your baby’s health, you should contact your midwife, health visitor or GP. Traditionally, lots of information, advice and support is female-focused, but partners can feel equally unsure or overwhelmed. To help understand how people use our site we use statistical cookies, as well as one cookie to make the site work properly and one cookie which remembers your choices if you accept cookies. Crucially, the app provides dads with guidance on how to support and seek help (when needed) for their partners and themselves as they adjust to their new roles. For this reason, the app also provides information on key behavioural changes for dad to look out for in both himself and his partner.
