About this deal

If you receive your goods and believe them to be faulty, please contact us straight away with a brief description of the problem. It’s also non-toxic meaning it can even be used to piece together broken ceramics which is great when you live on a boat as things generally seem to get smashed to pieces! Tolley’s does an amazing job at patching up areas that need a bit of maintenance where a complete re-fit and seal is not possible. Captain Tolley’s is a penetrating sealant that can be can be poured into cracks that are no bigger than 0. If you took the time to read my response, Phoenix, you would see that I DID answer the OP`s question, and I have used the stuff.

Creeping Crack Cure – A Full Review Captain Tolley’s Creeping Crack Cure – A Full Review

I have used it in the past (a leaking Triumph Dolomite rear screen) which it sealed for a couple of weeks, but it didn`t last, and should only be considered a bodge.Digging through marine forums the general consonances for Captain Tolley’s Creeping Crack Cure is that it’s a great product and is a staple in many toolkits. i should say that i did not completely remove the awning rail as i felt that i should let sleeping dogs lie so to speak. Captain Tolley’s is a low viscosity copolymer adhesive with exceptional penetrating properties which finds and fixes leaks in hairline cracks. Compatible with a wide variety of materials; rubber, glass, wood, hard plastics, existing sealants, concrete, ceramics, metals and fibreglass. In view of the fact that this material has been discussed before and pretty much universally found to be wanting, I would regard it as irresponsible to suggest that the material is in anyway suitable for his application.

With the scores of times the question of leaks has arisen on this and other forums, I have yet to even see a sensible suggestion that this material poses any sort of solution.

The only negatives we could find are people who have had the same experience applying it into wet conditions where it has failed to work due to not following the instructions.

Captain Tolley’s Creepging Crack is generally used above the waterline on deck fittings, coachroofs, wooden decks, hatches, windows, portholes and rivets and was also developed for use on motorhomes and cars.Knowing first hand of the damage (potentially terminal) of leaving a leaking van in a porous state, I would regard it the height of irresponsibility not to make a fellow forum member fully aware of the threat to what may be their pride and joy. Bottom line is - if he doesn`t have a leak there will be nowhere for the `creeping crack cure` to go except to run off and so be a waste of time and money. Magnum has already taken the decision not to do this and was requesting information about Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure as an additional precaution. I really didn`t want to reply again, BUT, I thought the idea of a forum was to exchange views and help each other, but perhaps like Ian Dunning I am also mistaken.

Filling cracks via a capillary action; its low viscosity and specially blended, acrylic copolymers create a watertight seal preventing leaks and those annoying drips! I have resealed the awning rail where it was coming in along with the roof vents etc etc, but now i am paranoid that i may have missed somewhere else. Accepting that removal and resealing of the awning rail is best, with respect to you both, that is not what the original poster asked. Captain Tolley’s was developed by Peter ‘Tolley’ Jordan, an ex-ship’s captain with 30 years experience at sea.Once in place, Captain Tolley’s creates a watertight seal that’s strong, flexible and clear in colour. You did indeed, but my point was that you then also answered another question that had not been asked. I'm in agreement with Angus in that I believe that the whole awning rail should be removed before using new sealant.
