About this deal

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road needs no introduction as it is arguably Elton John's greatest commercial achievement and is seen by many as his most iconic release. Roy Rogers slows the album down somewhat and sounds as though it would have been better suited to Tumbleweed Connection. When the ARP Synthesiser starts playing the dramatic chords, the overall sound should completely envelope the listener. The album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2003, [6] and continues to be highly regarded in various rankings. That said, it doesn't sound out-of-place on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road as it’s a lovely reflective ballad that relaxes the senses following the intense pace of Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting.

The album was preceded by its lead single, " Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," which reached no.The yellow copy sounds nice, but it really couldn't compete on the overall soundstage - especially noticeable on The Ballad of Danny Beiley. In the US it was certified gold on 12 October 1973 (just days after release), 5× platinum in March 1993, and eventually 8× platinum in February 2014 by the RIAA. Bennie And The Jets is a funk-infused glam rock track with a catchy chorus, but I’ve never appreciated the faux concert element as I feel it is extraneous to the song. Plus, while I always enjoyed the Blu-ray release, I found the vinyl reissue sounded too flat for my liking. Your Sister Can't Twist (But She Can Rock 'N Roll) is a brief and upbeat track that adds a touch of rockabilly to the album's sonic palette; it’s a fun little tune!

The poignant lyrics, and John's emotive performance, leave a lasting impression and will compel you to spin the album again. The album (including all four bonus tracks) was released on SACD (2003), DVD-Audio (2004), and Blu-ray Audio (2014).There really isn’t anything not to like about All The Girls Love Alice, although the ending could have been truncated. Among the 17 tracks, the album contains the hits " Candle in the Wind," US number-one single " Bennie and the Jets," " Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and " Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" plus live favourite " Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding.
