About this deal

Cushioning under the heel is moderate and as I would expect from an approach shoe while the mid and front areas only have light cushioning. It’s worth remembering that this isn’t a general hiking boot so I wouldn’t expect it to be as heavy or have as much padding. At Addnature, it's our mission to provide you with the best hiking shoes in the industry. That is why you can shop with us for any hiking boots, whether mountaineering boots or waterproof hiking boots. The ultimate outdoor companions - with Mega-Grip™ technology to enhance your footing and grip, the La Sportiva TX4 GTX approach shoes are designed for a low-to-the-ground feel, to maximise your performance whether you're on a well-trodden approach trail, or scrambling through boulders off-trail. Built to ensure your approach is as smooth as possible, the TX4 approach shoes are lightweight, comfortable and protective: Gore-Tex Extended Comfort lining provides incredible levels of breathability and water protection, whilst the flared fifth metatarsal area enhances stability and provides extra lateral support.

NOTE: The above table is only a guide. Manufactures don’t like tomake it easy as every single oneof them strays from the measurements above. The TX series include three variations, TX2 – a climbing focused approach shoe, TX3 – mix terrain walking shoe, and TX4 – a mountaineering model designed for technical routes, scrambling and hiking. In this case I opted for the TX4 with a Goretex lining for added protection against the infamous Welsh weather…..rain not being an uncommon factor even in the summer season. Be sure to choose a water resistant material for your waterproof hiking boots or mountaineering boots with insulation features for when the seasons change. Hiking Shoes Ventilation plays a crucial part in your hiking experience. You want to walk in a pair of hiking boots or mountaineering boots that allow your feet to breathe but not so open that they pose a risk to injuries. You should now be able to see approximately 2 cm (about an index fingers width) of the footbed poking out in front of your toes.La Sportiva's TX4 GTX are a classic approach shoe made with a solid sole, leather outer and Gore-Tex lining. They feature everything you want in an approach shoe with extended rubber bumpers around the toes, along the sides and up the heels. A strong, effective lacing system allows you to get the most comfortable fit and the large pull loop on the heel makes getting them on much easier too. The Gore-Tex lining helps keep out the wet on the walk in but obviously with a shoe that is this low cut water can (and does) get over the tops easily. Lacing: Mythos patented lacing system, very low to ensure better foot support and optimal adjustment of the shoe volume The boot upper is made from suede leather and mesh, and despite some heavy usage over the last 24 months, there’s no sign of wear and tear problems. Every detail of the TX4 has been refined to guarantee grip, comfort and protection during crag approaches. The hard wearing leather uppers are an essential design component and have high abrasion resistance being protected by the PU TechLite all-around rand. The Vibram MegaGrip sole has climbing zone at the toe and Impact Brake System at the rear and is designed for climbing easier routes and descents on technical terrain. The lacing system derives from the Mythos climbing shoe and regulates tension and internal volume in one easy move. At Addnature, we provide mountaineering boots with shanks and plates designed with the best technology to prevent bruising on your feet. Waterproof hiking boots

The hiking boots, hiking shoes, and waterproof hiking boots product category includes: Hiking Boots There are no additional costs or duties on products marketed in countries within the European Union. Customers will not have to pay anything on delivery. The La Sportiva TX4 GTX Approach Shoes is a rugged and sturdy, with uppers made of hard-wearing leather and their PU Tech Lite rand giving it enhanced torsion, stability and a “built to last” appearance. You get an aggressive, in your face sole unit provided in this instance by the industry leaders Vibram. The sole unit meets a rubber toe box that looks like it could belong to a climbing shoe and even includes a climbing zone/edge for precision footwork, and a “break” system to assist on steep exists. The comparison to climbing shoes doesn’t stop here though, with a lacing system taken from their Mythos climbing model that offers better volume and tension control throughout the length of the shoe.

I found them a little hot in the summer but only rarely where they uncomfortable. For me, they provide the perfect balance between protection and breathability, and I certainly wouldn’t want a boot with less protection just for the sake of cooler feet – next time I may get the version without Gore-Tex as I suspect this reduces breathability of the boot. Leather shoe with Gore-Tex Extended Comfort designed for technical approach routes and via ferrata, part of the Traverse X approach series: ideal for prolonged use by mountain guides and all those who work in the mountains. If you can see this amount of space then you are pretty much on the way to making sure that your boots are the correct size. This space between your toes and the end of the footbed ensures that you will not stub your toes on the inside of the boot when you descend. This can be excruciatingly painful. If you can’t see this amount of space then it’s a good bet that the boots will be too small. But let’s not dwell on what you don’t have, instead we shall teach you how to ascertain your size using some common household objects. The material you choose on your mountaineering boots or hiking shoes affects how well your foot breathes, water resistance, and the overall weight of your boots. The waterproof hiking boots upper could be either full-grain or split-grain leather, or entirely a synthetic material. The TX line is broken up into three models: TX2, TX4 and TX5, with the number depending on the weight and stiffness of the shoe (TX2 being lightweight). TX4 and TX5 models are also broken up into a low and a mid version, so that you’re able to fine tune the fit, stiffness and weight based on the intended use.

Now that your boots are done up properly stand up on your tiptoes and walk on the spot on the balls of your feet as if you are walking up a steep hill. If your heels lift more than approximately 5mm from the footbed you may need to pull the laces tighter, or the boots may just be the wrong shape for you. The slightly large fit and wide toe box—built for comfort and stability—may be too roomy for those with low-volume or narrow feet. La Sportiva set the standards in approach shoe design with their Boulder X model. It was the go-to shoe for climbers looking to upgrade their approach shoe collection, or even to replace their battered 5-year-old Boulder X – we even know of people hoarding pairs of Boulder X in fear that they might one day become discontinued. Leather can wet out and grow heavy and misshapen with extended exposure to rain or snow. You can apply waterproofing products, but keep in mind that they will impact breathability. The TX4's are perfect all-rounder for just about everything outdoor-related, with every detail, studied to guarantee grip, comfort and protection in a wide range of conditions. The soles of the TX4 are made by Vibram, the leading manufacturer of soles for climbers, hikers and walkers. At the toe, there is a climbing zone, which is a smooth area of rubber for maximising traction on narrow footholds; again, this will help scramblers and climbers alike and is rarely found on regular hiking footwear.
