About this deal

Snugpak claims that the Jungle Blanket will keep you warm down to 45 degrees and honestly, I think that they are mostly right. Snugpak has engineered the Jungle Blanket using Travelsoft Insulation, designed for exceptional performance using ultra lightweight, high loft fibres that work superbly even after being compressed into a small, compact size for lightweight travelling. Antibacterial, anti-microbial, windproof and water resistant, the Jungle Blanket will become your best friend when the temperature drops. Specification While I am sure that Snukpag has some specific way that their insulation is made, it is 100% polyester. Polyester is personally one of my favorite fabrics when I need to consider staying warm when wet.

I can`t say that this is my favorite survival sleeping bag on the market, but it`s certainly a great option especially for those on a budget. We like that the Jungle is machine washable. Like any blanket or sleep bag, we strongly recommend using a front-loading machine and steering clear of any machine with an agitator. However, this caution is especially true of this model specifically because of its minimal stitching between the underside and insulation, which we suspect would separate much faster if it is washed in a top loader. Should You Buy the Snugpak Jungle?

I`ve taken the Jungle Bag out into the field several times here in Washington State. I have a thorough understanding of how it will perform in a variety of survival situations. First off, no matter what material you’re dealing with, you want the insulation to remain dry if possible. So, is the outer layer of the Jungle Blanket truely water resistant? So far, I`ve used the Jungle Bag mostly in colder winter weather here in Washington State. Average nighttime temps on my outings have hovered around 50°F with a low of just below 45°F.Visit Snugpak.com to learn more about the Jungle Bag`s features and specifications. My Experience with the Snugpak Jungle Bag Snugpak Jungle Bag next to 32oz Hydro Flask and 12oz Coca-Cola Not Waterproof The Jungle Bag is water resistant but far from waterproof. You can use it out in the open in dry weather, but it`s best to pair it with a shelter, such as a tarp.

Yes, it absolutely retains heat when wet, but if it is cold out and your blanket is wet, you won’t exactly be warm! It’s definitely not the most comfortable blanket, but most camping blankets aren’t, especially ones that need to be water resistant and lightweight.I`ve yet to use the Snugpak Jungle Bag for more than a couple days at a time, so I can`t personally speak on its antibacterial, antimicrobial, and odor-reducing properties. Choosing the best survival sleeping bag all comes down to assessing your long-term survival needs, most notably the type of shelter you`ll construct and the expected weather conditions. What`s the Verdict? The ripstop outer shell provides peace of mind that even if I do get a tear, the blanket is not going to be useless.

I also love the versatility of this sleeping bag. You can use it on its own, unzip it into a survival blanket, or zip it together with another Jungle Bag to create one big sleeping bag.If you plan on using this blanket instead of a sleeping bag, I personally wouldn’t use it in any weather dipping below 60 degrees unless you are also sleeping in some solid layers.
