About this deal

Pretty useful on stage and in the case of the MG30, the sound doesn't seem fake or tiny compared to a real amp played in the same time. Therefore, it might be interesting to tweak the bassrange with a preEQ between guitar and SLO model (which would involve once again the para EQ). Best of both worlds, albeit it can generate some noise, of course, if the proper tools and strategies are not used. The 4 cables method worked as expected, albeit with a slight comb filtering effect at low volume (reason: the Hot Rod always sends a slight amount of direct sound to the output when its loop is used).

SCAMMER WARNING: Due to a spate of recent scam attempts (some successful) recently, if you're doing a deal in the classifieds, ONLY USE PAYPAL GOODS AND SERVICES UNLESS YOU KNOW THAT INDIVIDUAL PERSONALLY. I always said that this multi-effects was too high frequencies, not letting the mids breathe and less so the bass. Reason: there was no way to obtain a natural sound from the MG-30 tested above as a simple FX board compared to a regular analog pedalboard. Even with my pod go I still use my vintage chrome top, Or if I can work out the problems with my freedman tons of tears lemon wah, I just prefer the outboard Wah, so I could probably get around the small expression pedal on the MG 30, but there’s no way I’m powering a pod go outdoors from the battery, it’s just too much stuff, and while I had it of course I knew I was going to send it back, But should I get another one, i’m pretty sure I will just Velcro on or attach a larger piece of thin metal or wood to the top of that pedal to give it a larger “footprint“. However, my (and many others) QuickTone app could not recognize the MG-30 until I updated the firmware.

For a little more you could look at the Pod Go or the Boss GX-100 which are both super easy to use and have very high-quality effects. I have a couple big pedal boards but I didn’t have great reverbs, Plus I had to have so many delays because they were all cool by themselves but they weren’t programmable. IMO the studio direct mode is fine as-is, for recording I actually want less bass and more impact in the highs. You could save a blanked-out preset to work as your base to work from, just save it over wherever you want to start a new one.

Yes, when you are using the QuickTone app, you can set up a full library of about 20 IRs, but once you disconnect the NUX MG-30, it is left with the last custom IR you were using! The patch shared below was designed to give unity gain when the (physical) volume knob of the unit is full up. It as a lot of potential but you need to be willing to invest some time into building patches or finding other ppls patches to import. another very important point in my experience: you will always need your own monitor both on stage and in the rehearsal room; using the PA together with the singer (and sharing the speaker with him/her/them) generally means that you both will be dissatisfied because you both can't hear yourselves; in case in the reahearsal room you can use also a little the PA just to help your bandmates to hear you if your monitor isn't powerful enough or if it is placed in an unfavourable position.I owned and played through the real thing for years and the MG-30 was the closest to that experience out of all the modelers I have owned. Yeah I looked that up real quick, As I’ve been looking around at different rigs/equipment to play out with where I wouldn’t need AC mains power, and/or systems/equipment with inverter. For the record, I share below the response of the SLO (all controls at noon) as it is now emulated by the MG30 (in blue), VS the curves of other digital MG30 models: the JCM800 (in white), 1987X (in green) and Friedman (in pink).
