The 15mm XVE with its extended arms gives more mechanical advantage over the 15mm XV, making it even easier to make a bend. The built in former is a big revolution for me only having to keep the bender without any formers it's mint. The way that this is put together is perfect - from the built in former, how it is in two pieces makes, and also how the copper is held solid by the first piece before attaching the second piece, really well designed. The precision form wheels are accurately positioned pre set rollers means you will get a perfect pipe bend every time you use it. I've heard a few people say, oh well what about the Former, it's plastic whatever, but it's replaceable.

So it just goes like this, get your copper pipe and it locks on and then with very little effort you can bend the pipe. You've also got these handy extensions, they do simply screw to the bottom, just in case you need a bit more oomph. The springs work slightly differently, in that you feed the tube inside the spring and carefully bend using pressure with your knee. It's permanently attached so you won't be losing that, it won't be lost in the van or having problems finding it.It is made of plastic, so potentially could be a problem, but it's got a nut on it so if you ever wanted to get a replacement, I suspect they'd be easy to replace if you ever damaged it. Ease of use all depends on your personal strength but I find it excellent that I can remain in a kneeling position and use the bender with no problem.

And I'll recommend it to other plumbers, other people who are actually looking to get themselves a pipe bender. It's a lot neater, all in all I think it's fantastic, really good, really quality British made bit of kit.Can't really go wrong with them to be honest, the 4 'degree' indicators are very clear and help a lot. I'm normally used to my Hilmor where I've got the 15 guide and a 22 mm guide built in, whereas these come in either a 15 or a 22 version. Better sight lines – as the bend is in the same plane as the arms of the bender it is easier to line up by eye. What you get in the box is a Velcro strap for storage and transport, the pipe bender which comes in two pieces, and two extension pieces on the actual pipe bender. The Monument Pipe Bender can also be used with the MON2626 2626M Bending Arm Extension allowing for easier bending of 22mm pipe.
