About this deal

While the lovable protocol droid and astromech duo has become a fixture on nearly every major Star Wars ad graphic to date, their inclusion on the famous Style A artwork was essentially an afterthought. This is the rare Style C American one sheet film poster with the artwork that George Lucas employed British artist Tom Chantrell to paint and subsequently purchased himself the original artwork and rights for merchandising.

This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees.

In 1982, Japan premiered the first version of Star Wars to use Japanese voice-over actors rather than subtitles. A guaranteed original International 'Style C' one sheet movie poster from 1977 for "Star Wars", now known as "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope". The movie poster art features the famous Gone With the Wind style artwork of Han Solo and Princess Leia by Roger Kastel. We had never seen anything like it, and we are not likely to again…This episode finds young Luke Skywalker ( Mark Hamill) yearning to leave the agrarian life he has with his aunt and uncle, and chase after adventure as his friends before him have already done.

As a result, Nick Cardy, who’s famous for his ‘60s comic book covers of Aquaman and Teen Titans, stepped in to add the droids before the poster went to press.once the paper poster is transferred to a canvas, it is hand-mounted around a sturdy wooden frame with a protective varnish applied. Like a US one sheet they are usually supplied single-sided or more commonly now as a double sided poster.
