The grapefruit and orange are, as identified, very much more evident in the opening, and it's in the opening of only a few minutes, maybe fifteen minutes at most, during which I enjoyed this the most.

Pierre Cardin pour Monsieur (1972) is the granddaddy of all these, while Beloved Man is a second cousin twice-removed raised in a different country. What was interesting in reading the largely critical reviews on Fragrantica was seeing the different ways Beloved can manifest itself on one’s skin. The aromachemical tinge departs within minutes, and the leather nuance fades to a blip on the sidelines. If every Amouage scent is a beast in different clothes, then Beloved Man is a refined, polished beast indeed.

It is followed by a dry, faintly leathered aromachemical, then pepper, a hint of clean soapiness, and the tart, sweet freshness of a grapefruit. Ginger heavy (accord of, it's likely the elemi, cardamom spice and citrus) but with fruit and floral mix in the opening, which must be the geranium.

It’s difficult to say what kind of woodsy notes were used to create Beloved Man and there’s no official list of notes to check*. I'm surprised not to see more reviews from women as this is easily unisex and such a beautiful and unique take on grapefruit.Everything AROUND this accord smells fantastic though and definitely of quality -- the masc woody musk is especially great (getting a lot of pepper that's mixed amazingly with the orange). If you've had any experience with the Omani house of Amouage, you probably know them as a house that's not afraid to make bombastic, high-performing Middle Eastern fragrances. Amouage Beloved is for a man who doesn't have to prove anything to anybody Because he simply knows he is great just the way he is. Although very briskly after the opening,you can see the plethora of beautiful notes that are about to be presented to your lucky nose. Elemi shares some characteristics with frankincense, but it can also take on a green, piney aroma like that of fresh pine needles.Consensus among the participants on Beloved Man were that this fragrance was rich and the notes were intense as the perfume volume of this EDP was 30% rather than the usual 20% in other Amouage EDP or lower in some other perfume brands. The abstract floral element vanishes, and the saffron turns into a vague suggestion of something vaguely spicy that hovers at the edges. Unworthy of the Amouage name, tested it twice and found it so unremarkable and forgettable,and shares many similarities of other amouage fragrance, lacking in originality, please amouage give us something memorable next time. It's really a pity for I love the Elemi note in Amouage's LIBRARY Collection IV, the one that was created for World AIDS day 2011.
