Reason for only giving 4stars is that the new model they have shrunk the size of the 2 main outer pockets -I would say by half -I know it sounds petty ,but the lager pockets on the old one where deep therefore you felt gear wasn't going to fall out . The Interactive (IA) Technology allows for a compatible fleece to be zipped in for extra warmth and comfort. This product as a whole or the individual materials within this product have the following certification(s). Other climbing accessories including hiking shoes, shoulder bags or sunnies can also be seen as helpful. What you wear under a waterproof jacket can be a very subjective question depending on what activity you are doing.Whether you’re tackling a mountain peak or striding out along the coastline, the original Berghaus Men's Cornice IA Walking Jacket is a big favourite.

I originally bought this jacket as my Paramo gear is much too warm for summer dog walking however I am more than happy to wear it for a day in the hills. Outdoor Action Recommends using recommended cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash or Grangers Performance Wash. Having extra long sleeves is also good because you can keep your hands inside; the Velcro fastening will keep them out of the way when needed. If in colder weather a suitable synthetic or down insulated jacket with add further warmth however may be too warm if on a very active activity.The truly dependable Berghaus Men’s Cornice III GORE-TEX® Jacket is an all-rounder and firm favourite made from GORE-TEX®fabric, offering maximum protection whatever the elements throw at you. The bad: Those hand warmer pockets, when the jacket is zipped closed that is not a natural position for your hands / arms to be in, and they're a bit on the small side.Three pockets (including a purpose-placed zipped map pocket, easily accessible without unzipping the jacket) give you ample room for your essentials. This cosy rain jacket by cherished provider Berghaus is a top of the range choice all thanks to its water resistant make up, so will leave you dry in rainy weather. I never have any luck with zips however the main zip up the front has a quality feel and I have had no problems with it jamming. The map pocket is perfect for an ipod, and the hood is excellent when most others around you have been caught unprepared! The colour (black) and type of material does tend to both attract and “display” dust particles - particularly in bright sunlight!

Fully waterproof - breathable, waterproof 2-layer GORE-TEX® construction for highly reliable protection from the rain and wind. Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes. Not an issue for me as unless a jacket reaches your feet you still need waterproof trousers anyway but a shame that the original selling point has gone.My only comment is that the external pockets in the new jacket seem to be somewhat shallower than the old jacket. My only gripes and the reason for the loss of a star are a very poor hood which flops about without a stiffened peak and after 2-3 years of putting the jacket in and taking it out of a rucksack most days the material at the back of the jacket over the top of the draw cord starts to wear out hence the need for a replacement jacket.
