About this deal
Twig has had so many adventures and met so many new creatures I've downloaded Stormchaser immediately. The Edge Chronicles, the internationally best-selling fantasy series by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell. The creatures live an immense amount of time–up to four centuries –which means that they witness a lot more history of the Edge than other characters.
Originelle und witzige Ideen, die für ein Kinderbuch auf jeden Fall Spannung und Abwechslung versprechen, für mich wurde der Handlungsablauf leider zu eintönig. in this book some wood is buoyant but not that it floats in the water but buoyant as in it floats in the air, and it is just a fact that it floats just as we might think it is a fact that birds fly. Autori - Kriss Ridels un Pols Stjuarts - grāmatā ir centušies parādīt, ka brīžiem var atkāpties no ikdienišķās un garlaicīgās grāmatu rakstīšanas, veidojot kādu radošu savu fantāziju un izdomu augli. The world that Paul Stewart paints for us is simply magical, without leaning on all of the cliches of typical fantasy elements. Written by Paul Stewart and illustrated by Chris Riddell, it forms part of the Edge Chronicles, a series that has sold almost one and half million copies worldwide.
Armed with just a few magical gifts from his adopted mother, Spelda, Twig steps off the path and tumbles into a terrifying other world where nothing and no-one can be trusted.
Similarly, in book 1, I had wanted a pirate-like punishment similar to keelhauling, and had come up with sky-firing. It was visually inspired: Riddell would draw pictures for Stewart who would in turn build the story around them. He was saved by his hammelhornskin waistcoat, which, sensing danger, bristled and caused the flesh-eating tree to retch. First of all I absolutely loved Chris Riddle´s illustrations through the whole novel, they were a great way to bring Paul Stewart good description of the creatures to life.
