About this deal

Some say it could be a unisex perfume and I agree a bit on this, and yet smelling BV on a man would give me a sense of cheap aftershave.

I blind bought it last year in an absolutely ridiculous way: was browsing fragrantica, the amount of new tabs exceeded twenty… And then on the left in the suggestions box I saw a bottle of Bottega Veneta edp. BV edp opens in a very light citrusy green way, opens very fast and through the bergamoty zestiness I can smell a knee weakening note (or possibly it’s an accord). This isn't leather shoe leather like in Tuscan Leather, Ombre Leather, Uomo Signature or Encre Noire. It's almost as though the composition's too astringent, and needs something soft/"round" or sweet to provide some olfactory relief. What I really want to emphasize here, is that although I'm a vintage, powerbomb lover, Bottega Veneta found it's way into my heart. Also, it's funny to me how many people are getting all up in arms over a perfume reminding others of death. Usually pure parfums are better and more sophisticated versions of EDP, that makes me wonder about it over and over again… Could the perfume I love so much have even better version?

To me this is a very abstract fragrance - one that just is what it is, and doesn't particularly reference anything external to itself. Cool, discreet and serious, almost stand off-ish, this manages to be elegant and evocative without being in any way "friendly". Her high heels clattering, her shiny, healthy hair blowing in the wind, she walks into a cafe to drink her piccolo before starting a round of business meetings, the wonderful scent of her perfume wafting all around her. It smells like the inside of an expensive bag or a luxurious car and it’s very realistic, so I’m not sure if I’d want to smell like this.

They feature the most valuable and finest ingredients from all over the world, leaving a lasting impression.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The bottle designs reference traditional Venetian glass, with its timeless beauty and pleasant simplicity. The perfume itself is quite linear on my skin, mainly suede and oakmoss, with a bit of pepper and patchouli. Bottega Venetas' first fragrance was inspired by the Venetian countryside, and an image of an elegant and austere old villa nestled in the land, soaking up the warmth, the sunshine, and the gentle sound of cicadas. I dislike the top notes of this because it got that vintage style to it but after a couple of minutes the vintage is GONE, and it will smell much better, I like how leathery it smells.

but after spending some time with it, getting used to it, it's strangely become one of my favorite scents. A leathery floral chypre, the scent evokes the sensuality and suppleness of the brand's renowned leather goods and the fresh meadows, mown hay, flowers, earth and wood of the Venetian countryside. I would recommend that you wait a solid 30 seconds to a minute before you go in for your first whiff of the fragrance. It’s not playing any games or by the rules and frankly, as many have mentioned, it doesn’t care if you like it or not. This scent is the opposite of the light girly powdery scents I usually go for, but that is what makes it unique for me and my collection.

I wish I got more green-oakmoss, but I'm overjoyed with this in it's skin-state (applied to wrist with a dab).

Bottega Veneta is elegant and classy, there is something about this type of leather scent that smells so luxurious.
