About this deal
Duppy Share Caribbean Rum is made using a combination of premium rums that are sourced for their provenance. Rum is housed in a nice bottle with a label that contains references to Kan's life from fashion, through food, Empier Windrush to the myriad ways Jamaican culture has affected us all.
On the palate, indulgent flavours of butter fudge, caramel and condensed milk delicately marry with accents of apricot, vanilla and nutmeg. In Australia it's labelled spirit so I guess it has at the very least under two years of age, but more likely no age.
Vividly neon green with a bouquet of aromas incorporating mint, lemon blame, aniseed and of course wormwood, Grande Absente Original is made to a pre-ban absinthe recipe the flavour builds as you enjoy each sip. If you want something to punch you in the face and leave you with a bloody nose then go and get another bottle of Wray and Nephew.
The coconut notes blend wonderfully with a sweet molasses flavour which delivers an almost dairy-like flavour, inviting and essential for the most exotic Caribbean cocktails. If I was in Jamaica I’d drink like everyone else there but here in Queensland the duppy white is a very good alternative to that fantastic taste of Jamaica which we have all been missing out on for too long. The label features oodles of references to Kano's life and Jamaican culture, styled similarly to a 7-inch record. Under this very attractive bottle, Duppy Share rum is a blend of rums from Barbados (Foursquare), aged 3 years in American oak barrels and rums of 5 years of age from Jamaica, distillery and estate of W orthy Park then bottled in London by The Wesbourne Drinks Co.The original Blue Curacao, Bols Blue is world renowned and one of the oldest flavours in the modern range. I will say that without doubt the grapefruit note on this rum is probably one of the most pronounced and easy to spot flavours I have ever encountered. On the nose, rich notes of velvet caramel and tamarind are balanced with light and floral tones of toasted coconut and violet. Rich, indulgent flavour notes are balanced out with lighter, more chocolatey-sour ones as the younger and older rums react to each other. Co-produced with musician Kano, Duppy Share Premium white Jamaican rum reprezents all things good about Jamaican and London culture.
